WATCH: ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ thrills with new clip

Brand-new images and a new clip from Paramount Pictures and producer J.J. Abrams’ “10 Cloverfield Lane” have just been released. Check out the photos below and view the clip below.

Described as a “blood relative” to the 2007 smash hit “Cloverfield,” the new film stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher, Jr. So far, the official synopsis only reads, “Monsters come in many forms.”

Dan Trachtenberg directs “10 Cloverfield Lane” from a screenplay by Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken. Trachtenberg explains to Empire Magazine how the new film became a “blood relative” to “Cloverfield”:

“’Cloverfield’ was a familiar genre that was told in a very unique way. Similarly, we are a familiar genre that’s also told in a unique way. It’s not the same way: the first ‘Cloverfield’ had that awesome hook of being told in this found-footage experience. We have something else going for us that makes it unique. I think our structure’s very interesting and there’s things in it that you have to experience.”

Opening across the Philippines on April 6, 2016, “10 Cloverfield Lane” is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ TV spots shed light on backstory

A couple of TV spots for the new fantasy adventure “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” have just been revealed by Universal Pictures.

The first focuses on the origins of evil queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron), while the second tells of the feud between the sisters Freya (Emily Blunt) and Ravenna. The spots may be viewed below.

Chris Hemsworth and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron return to their roles from “Snow White and the Huntsman,” joined by Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain.

Theron stars as evil Queen Ravenna, who betrays her good sister Freya with an unforgivable act, freezing Freya’s heart to love and unleashing in her an icy power she never knew she possessed. Retreating to a kingdom far to the north, Freya raises an army of Huntsmen as her protectors, with the only rule that no two of them should ever fall in love.

As a war for domination escalates between the two queens, the hero standing between them is Freya’s most elite Huntsman, Eric (Hemsworth). Alongside fellow warrior Sara (Chastain)—the only woman who has ever captured his heart—Eric must help Freya vanquish her sister…or Ravenna’s wickedness will rule for eternity.

Producer Joe Roth (“Maleficent,” “Alice in Wonderland”) once again leads the team in this breathtaking prequel in the legendary saga that is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. This season, find out who will win the war between good and evil in the epic action-adventure “The Huntsman: Winter’s War.”

Opening across the Philippines on April 13, 2016, “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.
