‘Nelia’ poses as must-see MMFF entry for first-day viewers

Suspense thriller Nelia poses itself to be a must-see entry as testified by its viewers on its first day of screening at the Metro Manila Film Festiv. It is the first full-length film from A and Q Films Production, with Atty. Aldwin Alegre as its executive producer. This Winwyn Marquez-starrer, is proving to be popular among the viewers of the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) as it is currently being screened in theaters in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Its R-13 rating from the MTRCB is not a hindrance for Filipino audiences to check out the film mainly because of its unique and bizarre story that revolves around the mystery behind the deaths of patients admitted to Room 009 of a hospital, and the story of the nurses and doctors working here. Apart from Kapuso actress and beauty queen Winwyn Marquez, it also stars Raymond Bagatsing, Mon Confiado, Ali Forbes, Shido Roxas, Juan Carlos Galano, and many more.

The film also discusses themes like mental health issues, which are not commonly tackled in Filipino films. Viewers also praised Winwyn Marquez’s performance as the titular Nurse Nelia Katigbak, who is suspected of having schizophrenia, a mental disorder where the patient experiences delusions and hallucinations.

According to those who’ve seen the film, Nelia features scenes that would keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wondering who or what is causing the death of the patients in Room 009. In addition, audiences are also looking forward to some of the daring and sexy scenes of Ali Forbes and Shido Roxas, who play a big part in revealing the truth behind the mysteries in the film.

“We would like to thank all the viewers who supported Nelia. We hope that you can also invite your other family members and friends to support our first full length film, as well as the other participants in this year’s MMFF. We are happy to be a part of MMFF’s return to theaters and help rebuild the Filipino film industry,” says Nelia producer Atty. Aldwin Alegre.
