During the virtual media conference for new Vivamax Original film Manyak, its stars Christine Bermas and Nico Locco revealed that they are in a couple and they’ve been together for 17 months now.

Nico explained that Boss Vic Del Rosario of Viva was more than supportive as he blessed the romantic relationship of two of the most bankable Viva Artists. “We wanted to get their blessing. This is something we really wanted to do,” he noted.

Christine and Nico also shared their experience on working together. They are currently in Canada for a vacation and to meet his parents.

Christine remarked how she felt on meeting his boyfriend’s family in Canada. “He’s my first boyfriend. It’s a different feeling. Pag nagpapakilala ka ng person sa family mo, you know na it’s a serious relationship. Nandon na yung security mo. Now, I can’t really explain my feelings, but thankful ako for him na nakilala ko ang parent niya. Nafi-feel ko na talagang he is serious in his feelings for me. Lahat sila sobrang bait, sobrang sweet. One thing na nagustuhan ko kay Nico ay napalaki siya nang maayos ng pamilya niya.”

Nico, on the other hand, told the press that he’s been watching Christine’s movies for a while now. “We first met in Siklo… I was then promoting my Vivamax series #LoveAtTheEndOfTheWorld. We we’re promoting our shows… and now we’re together for 17 months… Fan ako ever since.”

They are joined at the virtual event by veteran actor Joko Diaz (who plays the husband of Sheree’s character). He expressed his gratitude when asked about his consecutive projects.

“Ako yung pinakamura sa Viva,” Joko quipped. “Siguro, by chance lang na I was free. Libre ako sa mga araw na bina-block off nila. Or siguro kung paano ako makisama sa set. Pag madali ka kasi kasama sa set, hindi ka mahirap kausap. Madali ang trabaho. Saka, usually naman, pag naggi-guest ako sa mga pelikula, usually ang alam ko ang bilin ng boss sa ‘kin, wag mong pabayaan ang mga baguhan, ayusin mo sila, alalayan mo sila.”

As for Sheree, who was also present at the Zoom event, she’s more than grateful to work again with Christine and the rest of the cast. Given her experience in the entertainment industry, she gives pieces of advice to Christine to improve her craft and to hopefully stay in showbiz for a long time.

Their director Carlo Alvarez said that Vivamax patrons would not think of this project as something close to ‘soft porn.’ He said, “Excited na excited kaming mapanood n’yo na. Kakaiba siyang sexy film. It’s a sexy suspense thriller.”

Synopsis of the Vivamax Original film Manyak:

In “Manyak”, Christine Bermas plays Desire. She receives a phone call from her sister Myla (Sheree Bautista), asking her to stay at their house while she and her son go on vacation. Myla’s husband, Ken (Joko Diaz), is also off to Cebu. There have been reports of burglary in their area, so Myla’s asking for Desire’s help.

Adam (Nico Locco), Desire’s boyfriend, sees this as an opportunity for them to spend more time together. After 2 days, Adam has to leave for work, leaving Desire all alone. She feels that she is being watched by someone, and true enough, somebody in ski mask has sneaked inside the house. But the man is not after any valuables. It’s Desire that he desires. And he rapes her. But somehow, Desire ends up unsure if the crime really happened or it was just a terrible nightmare.

What leads to the confusion? How will Desire deal with her fear? If she can’t cry out for help, how then will she get justice?
