Avida culminates 30th anniversary with fundraising concert

Avida Land Partners with Ayala Museum to Provide Yearlong Internet Access to 500 Underprivileged Students through The Rush Hour Concerts Online.

Avida Land continues to pay it forward, anchoring on gratitude for its almost 50,000 households and advocacy for homegrown artistry for the culminating activity of its 30th anniversary. Following the company’s purpose-driven collaborations with local livelihood brands Rags2Riches and Messy Bessy is its partnership with fellow Ayala Corporation subsidiary Ayala Museum. In upholding the Ayala group of companies’ crusade to uplift the lives of Filipinos, the sister companies teamed up for a virtual fundraising concert for the benefit of Ayala Foundation’s underprivileged stu.ents.

With every ticket sold, Avida and Ayala Museum will be able to provide a child with internet access for one year.

Avida has long been united with Ayala Museum in celebrating the things that ignite one’s passions and that inspire them to live life to the fullest. Being synonymous to delightful and inspired living, Avida did not look far in choosing a group to “celebrate life” with on its third decade of making dream homes a reality for middle-income Filipinos. Five years into partnering together for various activations geared at promoting art and history, and inspiring everyone to pursue their passions, Avida and Ayala Museum took their collaboration up a notch by supporting a cause that is close to their hearts.

For its 30th anniversary, Avida once again joined forces with Ayala Museum to bring The Rush Hour Concerts online for the very first time. The virtual concert, set to go live on October 30, 2020, is a way for the museum and the Manila Symphony Orchestra to make classical music more accessible to the public. The initiative is part of Ayala Museum’s Get Access, Give Access fundraising campaign that gives internet access to underprivileged students from all over the Philippines for their online education. Keeping the spirit of gratitude and hope amid this trying time, Avida seized the chance to uplift more lives and saw it fit to celebrate its 30-year milestone for this higher cause.

The proceeds from The Rush Hour Concerts will be donated to the Ayala Museum’s Get Access, Give Access fundraising campaign that gives internet access to underprivileged students.

By adapting The Rush Hour Concert experience to the digital space, audiences can get access to Manila Symphony Orchestra’s full repertoire from the comfort of their homes and at the same time give online access to Ayala Foundation’s students in this time of distance learning.

“Avida has been a long-time partner of the Ayala Museum and we are grateful that in celebration of their 30th anniversary, they have decided to support this fundraising campaign and join us in bringing The Rush Hour Concert experience to the virtual public,” says Ma. The beneficiaries of Ayala Foundation’s Student Online Access Program come from the most disadvantaged families in Tondo, Batangas, and MIMAROPA.

The beneficiaries of Ayala Foundation’s Student Online Access Program include their scholars aged 5 to 21 who come from the most disadvantaged families in Tondo, Batangas, and MIMAROPA. 

Majority of them have limited access to digital tools and the internet, with 80% resorting to prepaid connectivity for their online schooling. Through the virtual Rush Hour Concert, Avida and Ayala Museum will be able to provide a child with internet access for one year with every ticket sold, with their target set at 500 children by the end of the fundraising initiative.

The Manila Symphony Orchestra

Join The Rush Hour Concert online on October 30 at 6 PM, and celebrate 30 years of home through three decades of The Best of OPM. Enjoy symphonic renditions of your favorite homegrown music from the 1970s to 1990s performed by the renowned Manila Symphony Orchestra with special guest, the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra. ‘Money Heist’ head writer to present online lecture via Instituto Cervantes de Manila

On April 28, at 7pm, Instituto Cervantes de Manila is presenting an online lecture by Javier Gómez Santander, the Head writer and Executive co-producer of the popular Spanish TV show La casa de papel. In his talk, Gómez Santander will share aspects of his career as a screenwriter, as well as a couple of secrets and details of the creation of the successful crime drama that has taken the world by storm.

La casa de papel (also known by its English title Money Heist) is a Spanish television series created by Álex Pina. It follows two well-planned robberies led by the Professor, one on the Royal Mint of Spain, and one on the Bank of Spain. Initially intended as a limited series to be told in two parts, it had its original run of 15 episodes on Spanish network Antena 3 in 2017. Later in the year, Netflix acquired global streaming rights, and renewed the series with two more seasons. The latest one, Part 4, was released on 3 April 2020. On the same day, a documentary titled Money Heist: The Phenomenon was also premiered. It was written by Javier Gómez Santander and Pablo Lejarreta, and showed the audience some facets of the show, involving the producers and the cast.

La casa de papel received several awards including best drama series at the 46th International Emmy Awards, as well as critical acclaim for its sophisticated plot, interpersonal dramas, direction, and for trying to innovate Spanish television. By 2018, the series was the most-watched non-English language series and one of the most-watched series overall on Netflix.

‘To All the Boys 2’ stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo to visit PH for fan event

Henry Cavill of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ coming to the Philippines Dec 12

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – 27 NOVEMBER 2019 –  Netflix today announced that Henry Cavill, who stars as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming Netflix Original Series THE WITCHER, is coming to the Philippines in December. Go for Gold Philippines tries to break Guinness World Record in dribbling

Go For Gold Philippines is ready to show the world what the Filipino basketball community is capable of achieving when it attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the most number of people dribbling simultaneously.

Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go announced in a press conference on Thursday that at least 10,000 dribblers will be invited during the July 22 record-shattering feat at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City.

“Being a SEA Games year, we want to be able to encourage a lot of Filipinos to be active in supporting sports and our national athletes,” said Go.

“We believe that this will be a good way to bring buzz and excitement to kick start our country’s program,” added the vice president for marketing of Powerball Marketing & Logistics Corporation, the prime mover behind the Go For Gold project.

Supporting the objective is the International Basketball Federation or Fiba, which recently formed a partnership with Go For Gold to encourage more Filipinos to support the Gilas Pilipinas men’s basketball team of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas in the coming Fiba World Cup in China on Aug. 31-Sept. 15.

Also invited to join the effort are the national athletes from various national sports association under the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Philippine Sports Commission in support for the country’s 30th Southeast Asian Games hosting later this year.

The most number of people dribbling a basketball simultaneously was 7,556 during an event organized by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Rafah, Gaza Strip, Palestine on July 22, 2010.

A fiesta-like atmosphere is set at the MOA Concert Grounds, the official venue partner of the world record attempt, with popular sports personalities and show business celebrities expected to encourage more dribblers to join the record-breaking effort.

Go For Gold is heavily involved in Philippine basketball with MPBL defending champion San Juan Knights-Go For Gold and PBA D-League champion Go For Gold-CSB capturing the titles in both leagues.

The Philippine Navy Sea Lions which qualified to the Global King of Kings Basketball Challenge in Shanghai, China on Aug. 8-11 is also being supported by Go For Gold along with the PH Air Force Go For Gold Air Spikers, the defending Spikers’ Turf champion.

Aside from these teams, Go For Gold has a stable of champion national athletes from cycling, triathlon, chess, canoe-kayak dragonboat, sepak takraw, wrestling and skateboarding.

To kick off the celebration of the film’s arrival in the country, SM Cinema held the Captain Marvel Quiz Night on February 9 at the SM Aura Premier Sky Park where they gathered 10 pairs of the biggest Marvel fans from all over Metro Manila where they battled for the ultimate prize: tickets for two to Singapore for the Captain Marvel Fan Event at Marina Bay Sands on February 14.
