Experience a thrilling island nightmare in ‘Lost in the Stars’

Prepare for a riveting cinematic journey as ‘Lost in the Stars’ unfolds the harrowing tale of a couple’s first wedding anniversary gone awry on a secluded island. This mystery crime film from China is coming to the Philippine screens this September 27, exclusively at SM Cinemas.

Starring Zhu Yilong as He Fei, Ni Ni as Shen Man, Janice Man as Li Muzi, and Du Jiang as Zheng Cheng, this film is a creation by Chen Sicheng, a renowned figure in contemporary Chinese cinema celebrated worldwide for the ‘Detective Chinatown’ trilogy. Adapted from the ’90s Russian film ‘A Trap for the Lonely Man,’ ‘Lost in the Stars’ delves into the mysterious disappearance of He Fei’s wife, Muzi, shortly after their island arrival.

Despite He Fei’s efforts to report the incident to the local police, the case is dismissed due to a lack of substantial evidence. As he persistently searches for his missing wife, he awakens one fateful morning to find a woman in his room claiming to be his wife. Determined to uncover the truth, He Fei hires lawyer Chen to expose the woman’s false identity, leading to a gripping journey of suspense and revelation.

Zhu Yilong, portraying He Fei, expressed his excitement for this unique role, sharing, “As I delved into the script, my emotions went on a rollercoaster ride. The unexpected ending left me in awe. This character is unlike any I’ve played before.”

Directed by Rui Cui and Xiang Liu, ‘Lost in the Stars’ promises suspense aficionados a tantalizing experience filled with layers of surprises that will keep them on the edge of their seats. Rui Cui, a connoisseur of suspense, hopes the film will inspire audiences to confront life’s challenges with a positive outlook while also promoting the growth of local suspense cinema on an international scale.

Upon its release, ‘Lost in the Stars’ became a blockbuster sensation in China, amassing an astounding $485 million at the global box office. An Encore Films presentation distributed by Warner Bros., don’t miss your chance to unravel a web of lies and discover the truth when ‘Lost in the Stars’ exclusively premieres at SM Cinemas on September 27.”
