Are you ready for Halloween cinematic treats on the big screen? Ayala Malls Cinemas is bringing back the classic horror movie “The Exorcist” for its 50th anniversary. They’ve remastered the director’s cut with extra scary scenes. This special screening starts on September 27th as part of “AMC Thrill Fest,” a month-long Halloween event at Ayala Malls Cinemas.
Thrill Fest is a treat for horror fans. You can watch cult favorite horror films like “The Exorcist” on the big screen. This movie, directed by William Friedkin and featuring Max von Sydow, Jason Miller, Ellen Burstyn, and Linda Blair, made history by being the first horror film nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. It won for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Sound. Friedkin created one of the scariest movies ever made, where a 12-year-old girl becomes possessed by the devil, and only two priests can save her through a demonic exorcism. This re-release also honors the late William Friedkin, who passed away on August 7, 2023, at the age of 87.

At Ayala Malls Cinemas, you’ll enjoy an enhanced horror experience with Friedkin’s Extended Director’s Cut, sourced from the original 1973 negative with restored picture and sound. They’ve removed dirt, scratches, and defects while preserving the film’s original artistic vision. Ayala Malls Cinemas is bringing back this iconic film that shocked audiences worldwide 50 years ago and transformed the horror genre forever.
Following “The Exorcist” re-release, you can catch “The Exorcist: Believer,” directed by David Gordon Green, on October 4th as part of AMC Thrill Fest. This film is a direct sequel to the 1973 original and features Ellen Burstyn reprising her role as Regan’s mother, Chris MacNeil. Leslie Odom Jr. and Ann Dowd also star.

These classics are best experienced in theaters with fellow horror fans. Ayala Malls Cinemas offers state-of-the-art features, including 4DX theaters with motion seats for a fully immersive experience.
After the movies, Ayala Malls Cinemas’ lobbies are designed to capture the funny and spooky moments of your Halloween adventure.
