Whether you are a fan of K-entertainment or not, here’s an exciting cinematic experience from TBA Studios, which previously brought internationally acclaimed foreign titles such as ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once,’ ‘Triangle of Sadness,’ and ‘Past Lives.’ Starting today, October 4, South Korea’s highly anticipated dark comedy film ‘Cobweb’ is showing on Philippine screens.
Premiering out of competition at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year, ‘Cobweb’ delves into the story of a 1970s director haunted by the desire to reshoot the ending of his latest film, despite facing unfavorable conditions. Chaos erupts as a complex web of complications begins to entangle the film set.

The film stars Song Kang-ho, renowned for his critically acclaimed role in ‘Parasite’ (2019). Having portrayed some of Korean cinema’s most iconic characters, Song now steps into the shoes of a film director for the first time, embodying cinema itself.
The ensemble cast of ‘Cobweb’ boasts South Korean entertainment luminaries, including Lim Soo-jung (‘A Tale Of Two Sisters’), Oh Jung-se (‘It’s Okay Not To Be Okay’), Jeon Yeo-been (‘Vincenzo’), Jang Young-nam (‘It’s Okay Not To Be Okay’), Park Jung-soo (‘Marriage Contract’), and Krystal Jung (of the K-pop girl group f(x) and romcom ‘Sweet and Sour’).
Crafted and directed by Kim Jee-woon, known for his previous works like ‘A Tale Of Two Sisters’ (2003), ‘A Bittersweet Life’ (2005), and ‘The Good, The Bad, The Weird’ (2008), ‘Cobweb’ emerged from Kim’s contemplation of the challenges faced by artists, filmmakers, and the film industry, particularly the impact of the pandemic.

“Despite the countless challenges brought on by the pandemic, life persevered. Through the lens of ‘Cobweb,’ a film within a film, which comes to life through a multitude of struggles, I aim to convey a message of hope and cautious optimism that cinema, like life itself, continues to endure despite its ironies and hardships,” shared Kim.
Produced by Anthology Studios and globally distributed by Barunson E&A, the same studio behind ‘Parasite,’ ‘Cobweb’ promises to captivate audiences.
In the Philippines, ‘Cobweb’ is now showing as distributed exclusively by TBA Studios.
