Korean film ‘The Moon’ soars to Viu Philippines this Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, Korean cinema enthusiasts can anticipate a special holiday surprise as Viu Philippines debuts the acclaimed film “The Moon.”

Taking place in 2029, the narrative revolves around a failed lunar expedition that leaves crew member Sun Woo isolated in space. To facilitate his safe return, the space center enlists the expertise of former director Kim Jae Guk, who had prior involvement in a mission that ended disastrously.

Renowned K-pop sensation and EXO member, Do Kyung Soo, portrays Sun Woo, marking his most significant cinematic endeavor to date. Recognized affectionately as D.O., he secured the Star of the Year Award at South Korea’s 2023 Buil Film Awards, where “The Moon” also garnered nominations for Best Art and Best Cinematography. Moreover, D.O. received nods for Best Actor at both the Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards for his outstanding performance in this film. Beyond this project, D.O. graces screens in Viu’s comedic documentary series, “GBRB: Reap What You Sow,” and the compelling drama, “Bad Prosecutor.”

Critics universally acclaim director Yong Hwa Kim’s “The Moon” as a stellar sci-fi masterpiece, lauding its exhilarating, immersive, and exceptional qualities.

Experience “The Moon” on Viu Premium, available in Korean with English subtitles or Tagalog-dubbed versions.
