This 2024, watch out for the big collaboration between the Philippines and South Korea through the action-thriller film ‘The Guardian.’

For aficionados of Korean cinema in the Philippines, this promises an exhilarating experience as they witness their cherished Korean celebrities in a movie set against the picturesque backdrop of the Philippines.

Headlined by Nam Woo-hyun, the esteemed vocalist from the Korean idol ensemble, Infinite, alongside the talented Park Eun-hye from “Steel Rain” and “Alchemy of Souls,” and Hallyu sensation Han Jae-seok, the film “The Guardian” is poised to captivate audiences when it hits theaters.

This gripping action-drama delves into the profound bond between a devoted son and his mother. Audiences will be riveted as Nam Woo Hyun’s character embarks on a perilous mission to save his mother from imminent danger.

The narrative revolves around Park Do Jun (portrayed by Nam Woo-hyun) and his mother, Mi-jin (played by Park Eun-hye), who relocate from Korea to the Philippines. In Korea, Do Jun showcased prodigious talent in taekwondo, nurturing dreams of national acclaim. However, he relinquishes these aspirations to remain by his mother’s side.

Despite Do Jun’s unwavering affection for his mother, their relationship becomes strained due to Mi-jin’s escalating gambling habits. As Mi-jin’s addiction spirals out of control, Do Jun forsakes his collegiate education, seeking employment to sustain himself. Along his journey, he forges alliances with Sandara (Yassi Pressman), an aspiring K-pop artist, and Coco (Eric Ejercito), forming bonds that transcend mere friendship.

Tragedy strikes when Mi-jin vanishes, and Do Jun learns of her abduction by a formidable crime lord (Han Jae-seok), the mastermind behind the most prominent Korean criminal syndicate in the Philippines.

With the clock ticking, Do Jun is thrust into a race against time to rescue his mother. As he confronts perilous challenges and formidable adversaries, the burning question remains: will Do Jun’s valiant efforts bear fruit, or will fate conspire against him, leaving him powerless to shield his beloved mother?

Also part of the cast are Jeric Raval, Joko Diaz, Eric Ejercito, Wilbert Ross, Ashtine Olviga, Heart Ryan.
