Jenela Tuguinay, also known as the vlogger Jenela in Japan, is the latest celebrity endorser of Amara Shia Jewelry.

Kapuso First Lady of Primetime Sanya Lopez was the previous celebrity to endorse the emerging jewelry brand.

During her media launch, she was presented by the brand’s CEO and owner Ms. Shina Aquino, along with a meticulously crafted ensemble under Jenela’s name: Amara Shia Jenela Collection.

Ms. Shina narrated how her relationship with Jenela started when she saw her profile on Facebook and had the feeling that she has a pleasant personality and so nice, the way she uniquely introduces her vlogs with her own way of saying “Good morning!”

She also mentioned that Jenela was still in Japan when they reached out to her sometime in March 2023.

“Nung nagpagawa siya sa amin, ang dami niyang mga pinagawa sa amin na sobrang lahat, may meaning. Last October lang, noong pumunta kami sa Japan at nag-meet kami… for how many hours na nag-usap kami kung paano siya nag-start, pareho kasi kaming Christian pero siya kasi mas mabait lang na Christian,” she quipped.

(“When she had pieces made by us, she had so many specifications, and each one had deep meaning. It was just last October when we went to Japan and met her… for several hours, we talked about how she started. We share the same Christian faith, but she is a kinder Christian.”)

She was amazed with Jenela’s faith in the Lord, which mirrors her own trust.

“Kaya sabi ko sa asawa ko, siya talaga yung isa sa mga pwede kong [endorser] sa Amara, kasi the personality is grabe, hindi lang siya basta-basta na ‘Good morning!’ pero yung personality niya po talaga kung makikilala n’yo po siya from the start, ibang-iba po.”

(“So I said to my husband, she’s really one of those I can choose [as an endorser] for Amara because her personality is remarkable. It’s not just about her way of saying ‘Good morning!’ but her personality is truly different when you get to know her from the start.”)

Jenela was all smiles when she reacted to that. “Sa Amara, doon ko po nakikita yung workmanship na ginagawa po nila… hands-on po sila and para bang… may heart po kapag gumagawa sila ng mga piece nila. They make sure na nasusunod yung mga gusto ko, yung mga piece na dream ko lang o nasa imagination ko lang. Noong dumating po sa akin… packaging pa lang, sabi ko, ‘Ang sosyal naman [kahit] ito lang yung price nito.’ So napaisip po ako. Noong nakita ko yung pieces, do’n pa ako mas nagpursigi na gusto ko pa ng mas marami.”

(“In Amara, that’s where I see the craftsmanship they do… they are hands-on, and it’s like… there’s heart when they create their pieces. They make sure that they capture what I want, the pieces that were just dreams or in my imagination. When it arrived to me… even just the packaging, I said, ‘It’s so elegant, even if this is the price.’ So I thought about it. When I saw the pieces, that’s when I became more determined that I want even more.”)

She acknowledges the semblance with Ms. Shina and she saw the humility of the couple that despite their success, they are looking for an endorser like me who is unlike any of their popular brand ambassador. She was so grateful for the opportunity.
