Ataska, Dyessa Garcia, Mhack Morales unveil ‘Sweet Release’ on Vivamax

Picture two young women embarking on a journey, encountering a charming enigma who willingly joins their escapade. What unfolds next? In the teaser of “Sweet Release,” witness Ataska delivering a succinct yet impactful line that addresses this question – “Endless possibilities.” Ataska portrays Rian, a character who embraces life with a carefree attitude.

Here are some snaps from the recent media conference for the new Vivamax Original film “Sweet Release.”

For Ataska, her role exudes positivity as it is “the epitome of a sunbeam friend.” However, beneath her cheerful exterior lies the pain of heartbreak, as she and her best friend, Xan, set off on a road trip to mend their hearts after Rian’s boyfriend embarks on a quest for self-discovery.

On another hand, Dyessa Garcia embodies Xan, Rian’s steadfast companion characterized by independence and a strong familial bond. Describing Xan, Dyessa portrays her as “compassionate yet possessing a more traditionally masculine demeanor.” Xan grapples with the realization that she has fallen out of love with her childhood sweetheart.

Mhack Morales portrays Lucas, the eccentric companion harboring a secret agenda. Lucas aims to tick off items from his bucket list while traversing the countryside with Rian and Xan. “Sweet Release” chronicles the journey of this adventurous trio, witnessing a transformation that prompts them to explore their desires and reassess their aspirations. What commences as a voyage to unwind evolves into a quest for self-realization.

Director Pancho Maniquis defines “Sweet Release” as a “spiritual successor to Sex Drive,” a notable erotic film from 2003. When questioned about the film’s takeaway, Maniquis emphasizes a blend of sensual intrigue and heartfelt exploration of friendship, love, and personal growth amid life’s uncertainties.

Reflecting on their experiences, the lead actors express unanimous acclaim for “Sweet Release.” Ataska reflects, “The camaraderie on set was palpable, akin to a familial bond. It felt serendipitous, as if the universe orchestrated our collaboration to craft something extraordinary.” Dyessa echoes this sentiment, underscoring the genuine connection forged among the cast and crew. Mhack concurs, praising the camaraderie and efficiency on set, deeming it his most enjoyable professional endeavor.

For Ataska, the film spurred personal revelation. She reveals, “I’ve often been asked whether I favor singing or acting more. Previously, I’d say ‘why not both?’ Now, I’m certain – acting is my calling. While I’ll continue to sing and write, my ultimate aspiration is to thrive as an actress.”

Join VMX Princess Ataska, Dyessa, and Mhack on an unforgettable journey with “Sweet Release.” Available for streaming on Vivamax starting April 12.
