In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started — the iconic New York City firehouse — to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level.
However, when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, both the new and original Ghostbusters must unite to protect their home and prevent a second Ice Age from engulfing the world.

This is a great follow-up to ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ and a beautiful recall to the original films. It still busts real good and is incredibly satisfying for fans of the franchise.
The storyline is epic! Fans would really enjoy the neat callbacks to the original Ghostbusters films that it had. However, it’s the family dynamic that easily stands out as the heart and the best part of the film. It’s satisfying to see the original Ghostbusters getting more screen time in this installment, and the acknowledgment of their aging adds a nice touch for long-time fans.
The cast displayed wonderful chemistry. McKenna Grace continues to shine, while Paul Rudd brings his charm to this franchise. The OGs are great for providing a little support, and other cast members like Kumail Nanjiani, Logan Kim, Celeste O’Connor, and Annie Potts lighten up everything with their own humor. It’s a heartfelt action film that captures the same level of fun as the original. Even though nothing beats the original, it equally balances humor and horror, making it enjoyable for both old and young fans.
This supernatural comedy film definitely delivers lots of humor, a few jump scares, and thrilling action, while trying to make it feel, look, and be a modern story. A true family-friendly movie best seen on the big screen with no agendas other than to entertain us. A pure family entertainment that gives enough little nods and fan services. It has plenty of nostalgia for longtime fans, as well as fun multi-generational action for younger audiences to enjoy.
Overall, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is another great addition to the never-ending franchise. Don’t forget to stick around for the fun mid-credits’ scene!
