Former Streetboys heartthrob-turned-London bus driver Sphencer Reyes back to PH for benefit concert

Former Streetboys heartthrob Sphencer Reyes, now a bus driver for a major company in the United Kingdom, returns to the Philippines for “THE SIGN: 90’s SUPERSHOW,” a benefit concert slated in Aliw Theater this April 19, 2024.

Expressing his excitement, Reyes shared — in a media conference through teleconferencing via UK — his eagerness to reunite with his fellow dancers despite being informed that only a few original Streetboys members would be present at the event.

While his fans are missing out on his dancing skills, He shed light on light on his journey to London and his current occupation.

Sphencer Reyes, Regine Tolentino, Danilo Barrios invite fans to watch their dance concert.

“Nag-aral ako ng nursing sa Pilipinas kasi hindi ka makakapunta rito sa London kung didiretso ka as [a] bus driver. Kailangan may skills ka rin. And then, may kumuha sa aking employer. Then nag-shift ako as a bus driver because of the benefits. Nagustuhan ko yung offer. I’ve been here for 16 years. Six or seven of those years as a bus driver.”

Highlighting the significance of the upcoming concert, Reyes emphasized that it’s not just a simple concert but a benefit concert aimed at supporting dancers. He stressed the importance of using the proceeds to assist aspiring dancers in achieving their dreams and expressed his hope for the audience to attend and support the cause.

So, sana manood kayo.”

Reyes will be joined by original Streetboys members Maynar Marcellano, Danilo Barrios, Christo Cruz, Nicko Manalo, Joey Andres, and Michael Sesmundo, as well as Streetboys Juniors: Fritz, Gian, Paulo, and Neil.

Adding to the lineup are THE MANOEUVRES members Joshua Zamora, Rene Sagaran, Jonjon Supan, Red, and Jhon Cruz, alongside Marco Mckinly and Norman Santos from the Universal Motion Dancers, and Kids At Work and Power X People, among others.

The concert promises a night filled with nostalgia and iconic dance crazes from the 1990s, scheduled for April 19, 2024, at 6:00 pm in Aliw Theater, CCP Complex, Pasay City. Tickets are available via Tickelo.

Beyond entertaining, the event aims to inspire and educate the current generation of dancers by providing insights from seasoned performers.

With sponsorship from Wolfgangs, The Red Crab, 1322 Bar and Lounge, Wild Seafood atbp., Erjohn Almark Transit Corp., Wildcat Queens Travel and Tours Ltd., Mak Media, SG Vibes, Farmer’s Plaza, Tickelo, Wildcat Queens Recording Studio, and Wild Knights Band, and under the direction of Kiko Cabarloc and Arnel Guadalupe Caranto, the concert is produced by Opalyn Amistoso of Wild Cat Queen Productions, in collaboration with Pro-Entertainment, Avolution, and Mallillins Music Production.
