Are David Chua and Jackie Gonzaga the next love team to watch out for? What about JaVid?

Keen-eyed netizens quickly noticed the affectionate interactions between the charming David Chua and the rising It’s Showtime co-host Jackie Gonzaga on their social media platforms just days ago.

Jackie reposted David’s photo of them sharing a sweet moment during a break from taping their Net25 sitcom, Good Will. Jackie’s followers, drawn to the apparent chemistry, immediately started ‘shipping’ the potential new couple. But are they really an item?

David and Jackie first crossed paths on the set of Good Will, where Jackie joined the cast in its fourth season during the last quarter of 2023.

A close confidant of David’s revealed his initial reaction to meeting Jackie.

David shared, “Bibo siya, e.”

Unsurprisingly, her spirited personality and quick wit also caught the eye of Vice Ganda, who promoted her from a backup dancer to a co-host on Showtime.

David added, “Kung kaya mong [makipagsagutan] sa isang Vice Ganda, then you must really be smart and gutsy. And that’s what Jackie is! Mabilis kausap and hindi siya plastic.”

“Of course, she’s very stunning! And because she’s a dancer, she’s also very much into fitness, just like me.”

Despite the teasing from their fans, David clarified that they’re not dating at the moment.

“I think most people know that she’s recovering from a breakup – an eight-year relationship at that – and I just want to help her move on,” he explained.

As a true Manila boy, David plans to show Jackie around the city, exploring its charming but historic restaurants, scenic destinations, and historic sites.

“She’s easy to hang out with, walang arte sa katawan, and being the people person that she is, she’s always willing to meet new people and discover new things. With a mindset like that, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before she fully recovers from her heartbreak.”
