Vivamax heats up with ‘Maharot,’ ‘Daddysitter’

Pinoy streaming platform Vivamax is turning up the heat with the release of two new films, ‘Maharot’ and ‘Daddysitter,’ both filled with intrigue, passion, and drama.

During the back-to-back media conference for these two titles, stars Aiko Garcia and Apple Dy were honest with their answers as far as being daring in their respective films is concerned.

Aiko Garcia, when asked if she is flirtatious in real life, candidly said, “Yung pagiging maharot ko, pili yon. Pag may bet ko, hinaharot ko talaga, alam yan ng mga friend ko. Pag sinabi nilang maharot ako, aminado ako.”

(But my being flirtatious is selective. If I’m interested, I really flirt, my friends know that. If they say I’m flirtatious, I admit it.)

Meanwhile, Apple Dy was asked how she handles being daring in sexy scenes.

“Yung [previous] ko is ‘Balinsasayaw,’ more on GL siya. Dito naman, makikita n’yo dito yung more on feminine or female version ni Apple Dy. Mas hot din siya to girl and boy intimacies… Same din before sa ‘Tuhog,’ may relationship between daddy and son. Medyo complicated siya pero na-handle… smoothly. Panoorin n’yo kung paano niya hinandle si daddy and son together.”

(“My previous work was ‘Balinsasayaw,’ which was more on Girls’ Love. Here, you’ll see a more feminine or female version of Apple Dy. It’s also hotter with girl and boy intimacies… Just like before in ‘Tuhog,’ there’s a relationship between a father and son. It’s a bit complicated but handled smoothly. Watch how she managed the father and son relationship together.”)

‘Maharot’: A tale of intrigue and self-discovery

In ‘Maharot,’ a young man’s fascination with a woman sets him on a path of self-discovery as he navigates love, friendship, and heartache. Starring Aiko Garcia and Victor Relosa, ‘Maharot’ is now streaming exclusively on Vivamax.

Directed by Rodante Y. Pajemna Jr., ‘Maharot’ centers on a mysterious woman named Joni (Garcia), whose arrival in a small community ignites gossip and intrigue. Tantan (Relosa), a high school student, is attracted to her and befriends her despite warnings from his neighbors. As they begin to bond, Joni teaches Tantan valuable lessons about love, life, and self-confidence.

However, as Tantan’s feelings for Joni deepen, complications arise due to their age difference and Joni’s work as a prostitute. The drama intensifies when Tantan’s best friend, Tasyo (Ardy Raymundo), starts a romantic relationship with Helen (Athena Red), a girl Tantan initially liked.

Tensions escalate further when Joni is publicly shamed for her profession, forcing her to make difficult and life-changing decisions. Will Tantan fight for his love for Joni despite all the odds, or will the woman who changed his life only end up breaking his heart? Find out in ’Maharot,’ now available to stream.

‘Daddysitter’: Navigating sugar dating and financial struggles

On August 2, Vivamax star Apple Dy steps into the world of sugar dating as a ‘Daddysitter’ in director Christian Paolo Lat’s film of the same title. The cast also includes Armani Hector, Emil Sandoval, and Mia Cruz.

‘Daddysitter’ follows Mara (Dy), a college student barely making ends meet despite their food business. She is particularly strained by her brother’s tuition fee expenses following the loss of his scholarship. Mara’s friend, Isabelle (Cruz), introduces her to the concept of “daddysitting” – dating wealthy older men in exchange for financial support and gifts.

Through Isabelle’s connections, Mara meets Ryan (Sandoval), an older gentleman who becomes her client. Although initially uncomfortable with the intimate and sexual nature of their relationship for the sake of money, Mara gives in due to financial pressures. However, she soon learns of Ryan’s declining health and the presence of his entitled son, Joseph (Hector), who blackmails Mara into a compromising situation to expedite his inheritance from his father.

Caught between the kindness Ryan has shown her and the desperate need to ease her financial burdens, Mara faces a tricky dilemma. Will she remain loyal to Ryan, or will she become a willing pawn in Joseph’s dangerous schemes?
