A pivotal moment unfolded in the quest for financial inclusion in the Philippines as FedCenter, a leading social enterprise committed to enhancing financial skills through training and development, gave a sneak peek into the first-ever app-based financial literacy platform.
The event was held this July 31, 2024, to showcase this innovative app. While WAGI (Wealth Advice for Growth and Inclusion) is yet to be available for download at Google Playstore and iOS App Store, FedCenter confidently set out the design of the app to be free and user-friendly. Its tagline aptly says, “Wais sa pera, wagi sa life!” (Wise in money, winner in life.)
Morever, this marks a transformative step toward democratizing financial literacy throughout the country by harnessing mobile technology to reach a broad audience.
“FedCenter is very proud to launch WAGI. This app will democratize financial literacy and can significantly uplift the financial well-being of all Pinoys,” stated Marc Christian Gulle, President of FedCenter.
WAGI makes financial learning accessible, engaging, and rewarding. It offers practical and relevant financial content applicable to Filipinos’ everyday lives, covering topics from basic budgeting to stock investing and everything in between. The lessons are crafted into engaging and easily digestible modules to facilitate learning. Users can even enjoy quick finance tips from successful personalities and celebrities!

To further enhance engagement, users can take tests after each module, with scores converted into reward points. These points can then be redeemed for prizes at various partner establishments, including leading fast-food chains.
Francisco Coco Mauricio, President and CEO of WeFund, the operator of the JuanHand app, added, “We are honored to be a major sponsor of WAGI. JuanHand, as the leading fintech cash lender in the Philippines, is a strong advocate of financial inclusion. Financial literacy paves the way for inclusion, which ultimately leads to financial empowerment. And financial empowerment is a cornerstone of national development. We do hope more organizations can join us in supporting WAGI and ensure its sustainability and success.”
The launch event was well-attended and featured prominent speakers from the government, including representatives from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Credit Information Corporation (CIC), National Privacy Commission (NPC), and the National Development Company (NDC). Their insights highlighted the significance of financial literacy for the Philippines and the crucial role WAGI can play in furthering this mission.
The #KyoJa love team of Kyosu Guinto and Jaja Disuangco were among the guests who graced the launch. Popular for their stint in It’s Showtime’s much-talked about segment ‘ExPecially for You,’ they are now co-managed by Viva Artist Agency and Asterisk Entertainment.
