Get ready for a steamy August as Vivamax unveils two tantalizing films that promise to ignite your screens.

First up, on August 13, 2024, is “Backrider,” a thrilling ride starring Jenn Rosa, Aerol Carmelo, and Chad Alviar, directed by Bobby Bonifacio Jr.

Not long after, on August 16, 2024, the seductive and captivating “Pintor at Paraluman” arrives, featuring an ensemble cast led by Athena Red, Ali Asistio, and Skye Gonzaga, under the direction of Marc Misa.

These films are set to deliver an unforgettable experience filled with intrigue and passion.

Backrider

Three of the stars of “Backrider” were present during the back-to-back media conference with “Pintor at Paraluman”.

When faced with the same circumstance as her character, Jenn Rosa related, “Ibibigay ko yung lahat kahit pa masama yung ugali mo, ita-try kong baguhin… Pero pag hindi na talaga, susuko na ‘ko.”

In “Backrider”, Jenn plays the role of Faith, a woman who develop trust issues and will learn to be self-sufficient, the hard way.

Faith is a massage therapist who offers that “happy ending” to her clients for extra pay. She is saving up for her plans to go abroad, together with her boyfriend.

As for Aerol Carmelo, he said, “Umabot din naman ako sa point na ibinigay ko naman ang lahat sa tao… Pero hindi naman siya eksakto na ginagamit lang din ako… Problems din e... It’s not just that worse.”

Jonica Lazo also shared, “Based sa character ko, parang wala akong kahalintulad talaga, kasi unfair! Parang kukuhain niya ang lahat, kahit sino aanuhan niya para lang makuha yung gusto niya. Kakabit siya, para magkapera… Lahat ng gusto niya, kahit na makakasira siya ng relasyon, kukuhain niya.”

Aerol Carmelo plays Raymond, the boyfriend. He convinces her to leave the massage parlor and go solo, so they can earn more in a short period of time. He’ll be driving her around to her clients on the back of his motorcycle. Raymond’s real motive is to get more of Faith’s earnings for his addiction in gaming and crypto.

One night, Faith meets a client who doesn’t want to take advantage of her extra service. Dave, played by Chad Alviar, is not only an absolute gentleman, but also rich and handsome. Faith is touched by this.

Meanwhile, Faith discovers that Raymond has lost all their savings to crypto. When this leads to their breakup, she becomes involved with Dave thereafter. 

It seems things are looking up for Faith, but she’ll soon find out that Raymond has committed yet another sin to her, and Dave is not exactly what he made her believe to be. 

Still struggling financially, and now shaken emotionally, Faith is out to get back at the men who did her wrong. 

Directed by Bobby Bonifacio Jr, “Backrider” is available for streaming starting August 13, 2024.

Pintor at Paraluman

Another offering is a unique love story about the beauty of making art and having a passionate love. Athena Red and Ali Asistio stars in the sexy fantasy film “Pintor at Paraluman”, directed by Marc Misa. It will exclusively stream on Vivamax this August 16, 2024.

“Siyempre po, masaya dahil binigyan ng chance ni Viva… ni Direk at saka sa bumubuo ng production na binigay po sa ‘kin yung lead role… kasi napakaganda po talaga ng story,” Ali said during their turn at the back-to-back mediacon.

“Nagwu-workshop po kasi ako e… Binabasa ko muna [yung script] nang buo, tapos tina-try muna ko muna i-analyze every time… kung ano yung character ko, para pagka nandoon na kami sa scene, naipapakita ko… Kung meron man siyang kailangan na gustong atake, si Direk Marc na yung nagsasabi sa ‘kin.”

“We were fortunate enough to have Ali as our lead actor. Ang Vivamax ang pumili sa kanya, and it turns out we have a good working chemistry,” their director shared.

In “Pintor at Paraluman,” a young and talented artist finds the perfect muse that would make him create astonishing artwork. There’s only one condition – they must never touch, no matter how tempting it may seem, for if they do, they will both put themselves in suffering and may lose each other forever. 

Tristan (Ali Asistio) is an aspiring artist who focuses on doing his best at work. He crosses paths with Paraluman (Athena Red), an immortal goddess with an incomparable beauty, and she becomes his muse. Paraluman inspires Tristan more in his journey as an artist and supports him every step of the way, and they eventually fall for each other. 

But having an immortal goddess as your muse and lover is not always filled with good favors. Like other things, it also has consequences. Tristan may be with Paraluman, create art based on her, and continue to love her – but they may never touch, or Paraluman perishes, and he loses her. Only that one condition, but for a man who is deeply in love, also the most painful and hardest thing to do. 

How will Tristan and Paraluman survive their love if the intimacy of being able to touch and hold each other is forbidden? Will Tristan’s feelings for Paraluman be enough for him to be contented with what they have, or will he give in to his human desires?
