The power of music, lyrics, cinema, live theater, and charity came to life in “Wish Date: Obscure,” the highly anticipated 10th anniversary celebration of Wish 107.5. It featured stellar performances by SB19’s Stell, Gigi De Lana, and other top acts in the music and acting scenes.
As always, this event held on August 11 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, was a masterful fusion of art forms that conveyed a compelling message of true love and unity, underscoring the ability of these mediums to bring people together in meaningful ways.

The short film featured a star-studded cast including Elijah Canlas, JC Alcantara, Karina Bautista, Bernadette Allyson, and Drexell Kern. Elijah Canlas portrayed Carlos, a compassionate lawyer burdened by a traumatic past. His character’s love story with Bernadette, played by Karina Bautista, unfolded with emotional depth, while JC Alcantara’s portrayal of Chris, a loyal friend with a strong sense of duty, added layers of complexity to the narrative.
This special get-together was not just a celebration of art and culture but also a testament to the enduring power of love in maintaining the bonds of friendship, family, and community.
The event was further elevated by outstanding musical performances from Stell Ajero, Gigi De Lana and the Gigi Vibes, NeoColours, Silent Sanctuary, and KDR Music House’s Esay, Hakki, and Letters from June. These performances seamlessly intertwined with the film’s narrative, enhancing the emotional impact of the story.
The evening was a harmonious blend of drama and “kilig” (romantic excitement), especially during the live performance of the final act, which brought the audience at the Big Dome to their feet, cheering for the beloved characters portrayed by the talented cast. The narration by Dr. Clark, voiced by Kuya Daniel Razon in the form of letters, provided a poignant backdrop that tied the film’s scenes together.
The core message of the short film was beautifully encapsulated in a reminder from Lola Tess (Bernadette Allyson): “Love can be seen through the heart.” The film explored the complexities of love—how it is felt, expressed, and sometimes left unspoken.
Karina’s character emphasized that love requires expression to hold value, while Elijah’s character posed the question, “Don’t you think that a love not spoken could be more genuine than a love eloquently expressed?” JC Alcantara’s character added a memorable line that resonated with the audience: “What’s important among friends is understanding.”
Beyond the artistic performances, the #Wish10thAnniversary event also highlighted the importance of giving back to the community, with a total of Php400,000 donated to various charitable organizations. This generous act of giving reflects the concert’s theme of love and unity.
Stell Ajero and Wish 107.5 donated Php100,000 to Save the Children, an international NGO focused on improving the lives of children worldwide. Their contribution will help support various initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety, health, and education of children in need.
Silent Sanctuary and Wish 107.5 contributed Php100,000 to the Pangarap Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit social welfare institution. The foundation works with boys aged 8 to 17 who require special protection, as well as with their families, to provide care and support. This organization is licensed and accredited as a child-caring agency, making it a vital resource for at-risk youth.
NeoColours and Wish 107.5 donated Php100,000 to Cribs Foundation, an organization dedicated to the care, development, healing, and recovery of children in need of special protection. Cribs Foundation holds the distinction of being the first NGO in the Philippines to implement a Foster Care Program, highlighting its pioneering efforts in child welfare.
Lastly, Gigi De Lana and the Gigi Vibes, along with Wish 107.5, donated Php100,000 to the Cancer Treatment and Support Foundation. This organization has been actively working for over two decades to support cancer patients and their families across the Philippines, providing much-needed assistance and care during difficult times.
