Kiko Estrada, Cindy Miranda team up in ’40’; embrace self-love, selflessness

Cindy Miranda and Kiko Estrada, the stars of the upcoming romantic drama ‘40, have shared valuable insights into love that deeply resonate with their characters’ journeys in their film, which is set to open on September 4, 2024, in theaters nationwide.

During a recent media conference, Cindy opened up about her greatest realization: the importance of self-love. She urged others not to rush into relationships just to avoid loneliness.

“Huwag po madaliin. Huwag lang ma-in love, magka-boyfriend, just for the sake na may kasama ka,” she advised. Cindy also shared that being single for two years has allowed her to find happiness within herself.

Meanwhile, Kiko emphasized a different lesson—loving without expecting anything in return. He admitted that this concept is still a work in progress for him.

These personal insights from Cindy and Kiko are deeply woven into the narrative of 40, where their characters grapple with similar themes of self-discovery and unconditional love.

In 40, Cindy plays Megan, a vlogger and content creator who becomes controversial after someone exposes her staged/fake video content. Megan is so shattered by the severe hate she’s been getting online that she decides to commit suicide. Out of nowhere, someone appears to save her.

Kiko Estrada plays Archie, a computer shop owner. He sticks with Megan from the moment he saves her. Megan is not at all pleased. He has three words for her about how to deal with problems as an enemy, without harming herself: Attack. Conquer. Eliminate. And once he’s convinced that she’s already got a hold of herself, he promises to let her be. The problem is that she sees herself as the enemy she must slay.

As Megan’s demons are revealed, how can Archie make her see that life is still beautiful? Where is Archie’s optimism all coming from? In this world where our days are numbered, can Megan count on Archie to help her heal no matter how long it takes?

Behind Miranda and Estrada’s fresh tandem is a supporting cast composed of Yayo Aguila, Boboy Garrovillo, Irma Adlawan, Ruby Ruiz, JC Tiuseco, young actor Lawrence dela Cruz, and with a special participation by Diego Loyzaga.

The emotional impact of the movie is further heightened by the inclusion of Ben&Ben’s original song “Leaves,” performed by Concert King Martin Nievera.

The lyrics, “Leaves will soon grow from the bareness of trees, and all will be alright in time,” perfectly encapsulate the movie’s theme of hope and renewal. Directed by Dado Lumibao, known for his work on critically acclaimed dramas like Always and The Greatest Love, 40 promises to be a compelling exploration of love, loss, and the healing power of human connection.

Cindy Miranda, who recently starred in the horror movie Kuman Thong, continues to make a name for herself in the industry. She also earned a FAP Awards Best Actress nomination for her role in Reroute.

Kiko Estrada, now TV5’s newest Primetime Leading Man, has captivated audiences with his performances in series like Lumuhod Ka sa Lupa and Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko. Together, they bring a unique chemistry to the screen in 40.

40 is a story about the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of love. Don’t miss Cindy Miranda and Kiko Estrada’s chemistry on the big screen when the film opens nationwide on September 4, 2024.
