Residents of Manila experienced a weeklong celebration of Sam “SV” Verzosa’s birthday, marked by his commitment to public service.

From September 11 to 16, the House Representative and “Dear SV” show host dedicated his birthday week to visiting various neighborhoods and distributing aid. His efforts included providing free medicines, rice, medical check-ups, and even business opportunities, showcasing his dedication to serving the community.

For his birthday kick-off on September 11, SV visited Pandacan and Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Accompanied by his SerVisyo vans, SV distributed free medicines, rice, and provided free medical check-ups to everyone.

On his actual birthday, September 12, SV held a simple gathering at Maserati Philippines, Edsa, San Juan City for his family, close friends from the entertainment industry, and fellow business people.

The residents of Sta. Mesa were fortunate on Friday the 13th of September, as SV once again distributed aid. His fellow Manilans warmly welcomed SV, calling him Mr. Close Up because, to them, his close-up smile brings inspiration.

On September 14, residents of Sta. Clara, Tondo were surprised and delighted when, in addition to distributing three thousand sacks of Sinandomeng rice, SV treated them to burgers and served as a McDonald’s crew member, delighting those who saw him.

On September 15, SV visited his fellow citizens in Moriones, Tondo, where he distributed 3,500 sacks of Sinandomeng rice and McDonald’s hamburgers.

The week-long birthday celebration of SV concluded on September 16 when he provided livelihood opportunities to those in need by granting one hundred Siomaiynila Food Card franchises to fortunate Filipinos.

“Tutulungan kitang tulungan ang sarili mo. Sagot kita!” (I will help you help yourself. I’ve got you!) was SV’s message before distributing the business packages to one hundred lucky Manileños whom he wished to give a bright future.

SV couldn’t hide his happiness when he was surprised on stage by some of the people he had provided jobs to, who had succeeded in their businesses.

SV was astonished by the gifts brought by everyone who greeted him with messages of gratitude and love.

SV became emotional as he became a tool of God to inspire his fellow countrymen, whom he had provided jobs for.

He couldn’t hold back his tears while listening to the statements from his mother, siblings, and children, who attended the event and spoke on stage for the first time.

SV’s family proudly celebrated his achievements.

SV’s sole wish is to be a good example to his relatives, and he was deeply moved by the love from his family and the Manileños.

SV considered his recent birthday as the happiest and most meaningful because he shared his success with the residents of Manila, his birthplace and origin.

His culture of helping those in need is SV’s primary platform and advocacy, stemming from his belief that the true purpose of wealth is to assist others.

Despite the joy SV feels from helping others, he often remembers his late father, Sam Verzosa Sr., who passed away on February 5, 2023.

“Alam ko na sobrang proud siya ngayon dahil marami tayong natutulungan dahil na rin sa naging pag-gabay niya sa akin kaya salamat Tatay,” (I know he is very proud now because we have helped many, thanks to his guidance to me, so thank you, Dad) SV said emotionally yet smiling, believing that everyone wins in a culture of helping and unity.

SV is a self-made man who has succeeded in the businesses he established. He did not hesitate to share his wealth with those in dire need after lifting himself out of poverty.

Through persistence and hard work, SV achieved his dreams and is now working with communities to help them achieve their own aspirations.

SV’s success story serves as a reminder that all Filipinos have the ability to make a difference in themselves and the world.
