Tessie Tomas, Noel Trinidad, Nova Villa reunite in ‘Senior Moments’

Philippine cinema icons Tessie Tomas, Nova Villa, and Noel Trinidad are the lead stars in the new family drama film ‘Senior Moments. This serves as a reunion project for them, having previously worked together on the beloved TV show Abangan ang Susunod Na Kabanata, which aired from 1991 to 1997. The film marks their much-anticipated return to the screen together, bringing a heartwarming story of aging, family, and life’s later challenges to audiences.

Senior Moments is the initial offering from A&S Productions, a drama-family film that shines a light on the struggles and joys of senior citizens as they navigate the latter part of their lives. Directed by Neal “Buboy” Tan, the movie’s rich narrative explores themes of aging, family dynamics, and the emotional battles faced by the elderly in today’s world.

Alongside the trio of legendary actors, the film features a supporting cast that includes Sid Lucero, Liza Diño, Jeric Raval, Janice Jurado, Madeleine Nicolas, Sheila Delgado, Isadora, and Charo Laude. Also featured are Ivan Vincent Madera, and new faces Cheska Javier, Allysa Lacsamana, and Prince Paguio.

A journey through life’s ‘Senior Moments’

Senior Moments follows the lives of three elderly characters—Primo, Segunda, and Pilar—who each face unique challenges as they grow older, providing a compelling portrait of what it means to age with dignity, resilience, and heart.

  • Primo (Noel Trinidad) is a retired policeman. His three children have families of their own. Living alone and experiencing senior moments, he faces a conflict when his children want to sell their house. He soon realizes that someone else will decide his rights.
  • Segunda (Tessie Tomas) is a widow and a successful businesswoman. With her children having their own families, she decides to be independent. Now that she’s alone, she gradually fears that the time will come when she will have to rely on others.
  • Pilar (Nova Villa) is an old maid and former teacher who still hopes that the man of her life will come. Feeling the sadness of growing old alone, she lets her niece and her children live with her—only to find out that her niece is only after her money when she dies.

These three characters’ stories mirror the real-life struggles faced by many senior citizens, reminding us that, despite differences in background or circumstances, the challenges of aging are universal. Through these emotional narratives, Senior Moments aims to foster empathy and a deeper understanding of the elderly, whose needs and experiences are often overlooked in today’s fast-paced world.

Senior Moments is directed and written by Neal “Buboy” Tan, who has over four decades of experience in the industry. This is Tan’s second film that focuses on senior citizens, following his 2012 movie Talo, Tabla, Panalo, which starred Filipino cinema legends Eddie Garcia, German Moreno, and Boots Anson Roa.

The film’s production design is by Cyrus Khan, while the cinematography is handled by Gilbert Obispo. Michael Cris serves as the production manager, with Sheila Delgado as line producer, who also makes an appearance in the film. Other key contributors include producer Sucil Nipa, assistant director Ivan Vincent Madera, supervising producer Jo Hervias, and executive producer Ann Danica Biaoco.

At its core, Senior Moments is a heartfelt exploration of aging, independence, and family dynamics. The film offers an authentic look into the lives of senior citizens—highlighting both the joys and challenges they face as they grow older.

It serves as a touching tribute to our elderly loved ones and a reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding, and family support in their twilight years.
