Though her fans are excited about her upcoming concert scheduled on November 16 at Winford Hotel Manila, it was Vina Morales’ heartfelt reflections on her acting career during the press conference that resonated deeply.

Her last film, Sunny, the Philippine adaptation of the hit South Korean comedy-drama of the same name, saw her sharing the screen with stars like Sunshine Dizon, Katya Santos, Candy Pangilinan, Ana Roces, and Angelu De Leon, along with rising VIVA artists such as Heaven Peralejo, Bea Binene, Abby Bautista, Heart Ryan, Aubrey Caraan, Ashley Diaz, and Ashtine Olviga.

But now, Vina shared that she misses acting on television and is open to returning to teleserye roles.

Reflecting on her experience in Sunny, she noted, “Yung Sunny… it was shown last year. Gano’n na pala kabilis yung panahon, ano? Viva [Films are producer], of course.”

(Time really flies, doesn’t it? It was with Viva Films, of course.)

Since then, Vina has received teleserye offers, but scheduling conflicts kept her from accepting. “May mga offer naman na teleserye, but then, hindi lang talaga nagsa-swak sa schedule. Kasi kailangan kong umalis.”

(There were teleserye offers, but they didn’t align with my schedule because I had to leave.)

She further explained how the demands of teleserye work today make committing difficult.

“Pag nandito ka kasi, pag naumpisahan mo ang teleserye, you have to be here. Kasi, anytime na kailangan ka sa eksena, or kailangan sa schedule… hindi na kasi katulad noon na naka-bubble kayo e, na naka-contract ka for 3 months, 2 months, 1 month, gano’n.”

(When you’re here and start a teleserye, you have to stay because they might need you for a scene or scheduling. It’s no longer like before when you were in a bubble, contracted for 3 months, 2 months, or 1 month.)

Despite these changes, Vina is eager for a possible return to the teleserye scene. “But then, if there will be another offer, I would be willing to do it if it’s a good role. And then, since I’m here na rin naman most of the time… kasi nakaka-miss ding umarte sa… TV, sa mga teleserye.”

(But if another offer comes, I’d be willing to do it if it’s a good role. Since I’m here most of the time anyway, I really miss acting on TV, especially in teleseryes.)

Having starred in the Kapamilya television series Marry Me, Marry You with Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez, she revealed her readiness to embrace a new teleserye project. “Since I am here, I am open to do a teleserye.”

This same enthusiasm and dedication shine through her upcoming concert, The Ultimate Performer: Vina Morales, Live in Concert, produced by VCSD Entertainment Productions. The show will take place on November 16, 2024 (Saturday), at 7:30 PM in the ballroom of Winford Hotel Manila (1800 Consuelo St, Santa Cruz, Manila), just behind SM San Lazaro.

Directed by Vergel Sto. Domingo, the concert will open with performances by David Young, an ABS-CBN Star Music recording artist, and Nathan Randal, an emerging talent who adores Broadway tunes and the classics.

Special guests Dindo Fernandez, the “soulful balladeer,” and Nin̈a Campos, the industry’s “crossover diva,” will also join her onstage.
