This November 9, OPM legends South Border and the “Original Soul Queen” Ella May Saison will grace The Theater at Solaire to relive the magic of 80s and 90s love songs in Soundtrip Sessions Vol. 3. Fans are in for a treat as they experience classic Filipino hits brought to life in a fresh, intimate way.

The Soundtrip Sessions concert series is known for uniting timeless Filipino songs with new musical collaborations. Since its debut in 2019 featuring artists like Luke Mijares and Jinky Vidal, followed by Nyoy Volante and Juris in 2023, the series has captivated fans of Original Pilipino Music. This year’s concert, Vol. 3, promises to be a soulful experience featuring South Border’s Jay Durias and Ella May Saison sharing the stage for the very first time.

Ticket prices range from P2,000 (Upper Balcony) to P8,500 (SSVIP).

Jay Durias: Rediscovering South Border’s classics with a new twist

As the lead vocalist and songwriter of South Border, Jay Durias shared his excitement for revisiting the band’s well-loved hits such as “Love of My Life,” “Kahit Kailan,” and “Habang Atin ang Gabi.”

“Uungkatin ulit ‘yung nga nasa baul, pero ang bago dito is yung collaboration with Ella May. First time na magkasama sa stage,” Jay explained.

(We’re bringing out those songs that have been tucked away for a while, but this time, there’s something new — the collaboration with Ella May. It’s our first time sharing the stage together.)

For Jay, the concert will also be a new experience as he explores duet performances, a style he hasn’t previously embraced.

“May mga duet kami e! I’m not really used to that e. Pero I would love to explore that side of music,” he shared.

(We’ll be doing duets! I’m not really used to that, but I would love to explore this side of music.)

He further encouraged fans to attend, adding, “We encourage people to come and see us and pagtripan nila yung tunog namin.” (We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy, and vibe with our music.)

Ella May Saison: Bringing beloved 80s and 90s hits back to life

Ella May Saison, known for her soulful hits like “Till My Heartaches End” and “If the Feeling is Gone,” is ready to bring nostalgia and romance to the concert. Her goal is to rekindle fans’ love for the golden era of OPM, and she’s prepared to bring an unforgettable performance to her audience.

Ella shared her passion for reviving these classics:

“I think now is the time for us to do this one, kasi ang tagal na e na hindi nagagawa yung mga 80s song, 90s songs, right? So wala ka maririnig halos sa radio e.

(I think now is the time for us to do this because it’s been so long since 80s and 90s songs have had a place — you hardly hear them on the radio anymore.)

“So, sa amin, we’re gonna parang revive it or buhayin namin yung mga gano’ng song para do’n sa mga fan, mga taong they’ll love to listen to 80s, 90s music — live! Looking forward to it! Sana manood sila.”

(So for us, we’re going to bring these songs back to life for the fans, for people who love listening to 80s and 90s music — live! Looking forward to it, and I hope they come and watch.)

Ella also hinted that her performance would have a personal touch, as she’ll be joined onstage by her siblings.

“We will transport the fans back to the ‘80s, ‘90s and spread nostalgia all over. We will make everyone fall in love,” she said.
