Two of the Philippines’ most iconic leading men, Aga Muhlach and Richard Gomez, have embraced the challenge of kick-starting their fitness transformation in partnership with a tuna brand.
Spearheading the #TheBestYouStartsNow initiative, Aga and Richard aim to redefine the “dadbod” stereotype by showcasing their dedication to health and wellness. With guidance from Coach Mauro Lumba, Century Tuna Superbods 2014 Grand Champion, they’re proving that it’s never too late to embark on a transformative journey.
Aga Muhlach, whose weight fluctuated significantly during the pandemic, sees this campaign as his motivation to focus on self-care. He has already shed 50 pounds since starting his partnership with Century Tuna and remains committed to maintaining a routine of regular exercise and healthy eating. His ultimate goal? To hit his ideal weight by the year’s end.
When asked if he has any advice for his fellow Filipinos who also want to start their fitness journey, he stated that it’s about starting the journey as soon as possible, “Just start now and do it slowly. There will be no instant gratification and it’s not gonna be easy because there’s gonna be failures along the way. But if you fail today, sleep. Tomorrow’s another day.”


For Richard Gomez, the campaign offers an opportunity to inspire others. As a public figure and a role model, he views his involvement as a way to demonstrate the profound impact of adopting a healthier lifestyle. His collaboration with Century Tuna emphasizes the importance of making positive changes for improved health and overall wellness.
Since joining the campaign, he stated that through being consistent in his lifestyle change, his pants have become 4 inches looser, “Being healthy really involves a lot of diet, eating the right food, and doing the right exercises. It’s not easy. But you just have to keep on pushing yourself. Just be consistent, be regular. Be constant.”
