Asia’s Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Superstar Vice Ganda has voiced unwavering support for the Angkasangga Partylist and its mission to uplift breadwinners, particularly those working in the informal sector.
During a packed rally at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of 4,000 attendees, Vice Ganda praised George Royeca, the CEO of Angkas and Angkasangga’s First Nominee. Vice commended Royeca’s dedication to advocating for the rights and welfare of Filipino workers across the nation.
“Sa dami ng pinagdaanan ninyo sa pagsuporta sa pamilya niyo, kailangan niyo ng kasangga na proproteksyunan at susuportahan kayo. At ‘yan ang 107 Angkasangga,” declared Vice Ganda, who stars in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 comedy family drama film “And The Breadwinner Is.”
Royeca, for his part, reiterated his vow to uplift the lives of Manila’s breadwinners in his congressional bid through additional benefits from the government.
“Kahit hindi pormal na empleyado, basta breadwinner, dapat may benepisyo mula sa gobyerno. ‘Yan ang sisiguraduhin nating maisabatas,” he said.
Aside from the welfare of breadwinners, Angkasangga seeks to address urgent issues like public transportation, job creation, and worker protection.
Vice Ganda’s film has dominated the Metro Manila Film Festival box office. She recently invited former Vice President Leni Robredo to a special screening of his MMFF entry at Gateway Mall in Quezon City.
After the movie, Vice Ganda compared his character to Robredo, describing the former Vice President as an unappreciated “breadwinner.”
“Si Madam Leni, minsan din siyang naging breadwinner nating lahat. Ikaw yung breadwinner. Ang tingin ko sayo, ikaw din si Bambi,” said Vice Ganda, referring to his character’s name.
