In a turn of events, former Vice President Leni Robredo has stepped into a new role, championing the senatorial campaign of former Senator Bam Aquino for the upcoming May elections. Robredo, who had Bam as her campaign manager during her 2022 presidential run, is now rallying her supporters to back him.
Their paths crossed again when Bam visited Robredo’s hometown of Naga City following a speaking engagement at Bicol University in Albay.
Through a Facebook Live broadcast, Robredo passionately called on her followers to give their full support to Aquino once the campaign officially kicks off on February 11.
“Hindi pa pwede magkampanya ngayon. Pero sa February 11, start na. Start na ng kampanya. Talagang all-out tayo, sa mga dati po nating mga kasamahan during the campaign,” Leni said.
Although she is older than Bam, Leni shared that she views him as a “kuya” (older brother) because of the care and guidance he provided, especially during her campaign.
Bam recently secured a spot in the Top 12 in the latest senatorial surveys for the May elections.
