Angkasangga Partylist officially launched its campaign at the highly anticipated Barako Fest in Lipa City, Batangas, receiving overwhelming support from Batangueños. Marking the start of its congressional bid, the partylist aims to amplify the voices of Filipino informal workers and the transport sector. With a strong focus on advocating for riders and workers, Angkasangga presented its vision for meaningful change that seeks to uplift countless lives.
Leading the campaign was Angkas CEO and Angkasangga’s first nominee, George Royeca, who reaffirmed his dedication to the cause. “We started this advocacy with Angkas, improving the lives of thousands of motorcycle riders. Now, I will champion all motorcycle and tricycle drivers in the country who are still facing discrimination and awaiting recognition,” Royeca stated. Urging the public to support their cause, he added, “Your vote for Angkasangga Partylist #107 will be the key to lifting them out of poverty. I ask for your support to help our Filipino riders.”
Further strengthening its campaign, Angkasangga gained the endorsement of the influential Recto family. Former Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, popularly known as Ate Vi, encouraged voters to support the partylist’s mission of job creation and better opportunities for Filipinos. “Vote for Angkasangga Partylist, #107 in the ballot. They fight for policies to uplift informal workers and ensure they receive the protections they deserve,” she emphasized.
Her husband, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, and their sons Ryan Recto and Lucky Manzano, who are running for congressional and vice gubernatorial positions, echoed the call to empower Filipino workers and build a brighter future for Batangas.
The event’s energy was amplified by vibrant performances from celebrities, with Vice Ganda, a close friend of Mr. Royeca, bringing her infectious “unkabogable” energy to the crowd. With her trademark humor, Vice Ganda urged the audience to support Angkasangga, saying, “Sir George Royeca is my friend. I know his heart and mind. Trust me when I say, we’re voting for a good and service-oriented person if we vote for Angkasangga Partylist #107.”
As the event concluded, the overwhelming energy and support for Angkasangga left a lasting impact. With the backing of influential figures like the Recto family, George Royeca’s powerful message, and Vice Ganda’s infectious support, Angkasangga is set for a strong push in the 2025 elections. The call for change, especially for riders and informal workers, resounded throughout the festival, marking the beginning of a transformative campaign for the Filipino people.
