Barangay San Dionisio made history by securing the inaugural Kings of Parañaque championship title, overcoming San Antonio in a thrilling Game 3 finale held at a packed Olivarez Coliseum.
The highly anticipated Kings of Parañaque 2025 tournament gathered 16 teams from across the city, representing 8 barangays from each district, all vying for local basketball supremacy. After months of intense competition, the finals boiled down to a fierce district rivalry between San Dionisio from District 1 and San Antonio from District 2.
The energy inside Olivarez Coliseum was electric, with 7,500 fans filling the venue and nearly 20,000 viewers tuning in online — a clear testament to Parañaque’s unwavering love for basketball. In a gripping back-and-forth battle, San Dionisio pulled ahead with a powerful fourth-quarter surge, sealing the historic victory.
“This victory is for our community,” said Coach Pysche & Pete of San Dionisio. “From the start of the season, our goal was clear, and to see it become a reality in front of our fans is an unforgettable moment.”
The tournament, presented by T3T Sport Management in partnership with CMS Basketball, was a celebration of homegrown talent. The first-of-its-kind inter-barangay competition provided a platform for grassroots players to showcase their skills — proving that Parañaque is home to some of the best basketball talents in the country.
Along with the prestigious championship title, San Dionisio took home a ₱150,000 cash prize courtesy of Cryptogram Global and an exclusive team holiday staycation.
Francis Tiamson of San Antonio was named MVP, recognizing his exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
“We never expected this overwhelming support,” said Mr. J & Coach Myk Saguiguit of T3T Sport Management. “This tournament was built for the people of Parañaque, and seeing the passion of the fans, the dedication of the players, and the success of this event only proves that this city breathes basketball.”
As Kings of Parañaque 2025 wraps up its historic first season, one thing is clear: this is just the beginning. With plans for an even bigger and better tournament next season, Parañaque’s basketball culture is set to soar to greater heights.
