Maja Salvador remains a shining face of Beautéderm as she officially renewed her contract with the brand during an event at a luxury hotel in Quezon City. The Filipina actress, host, and dancer (and now a mom) has been with the skincare giant for four years, standing as a testament to its effectiveness and impact.

For Beautéderm CEO and founder Rhea Tan, contract renewals are no longer automatic, a shift in approach she openly shared during the event.

“Nagbago na nga ako e! Dati-rati, nire-renew ko lahat. Totoo ‘yon!” she frankly shared during the media conference. (I’ve changed! Before, I used to renew everyone. That’s true!)

Tan explained that while she values her ambassadors, she also considers their effectiveness in promoting the brand.

“Siyempre, mahal ko sila. Pero, siyempre, nagbayad ako, ‘no?” (Of course, I love them. But of course, I paid them, right?)

Now, she relies on her team’s assessment when deciding who to renew.

“‘Pag hindi sila nagpo-post at hindi effective yung posts nila, goodbye!” (If they don’t post and their posts aren’t effective, goodbye!)

Tan admitted that she used to be overly attached to her endorsers, but she has since learned to separate emotions from business.

“Tinuruan din ako ni Maja. Masyado ‘kong emotional. Masyado akong attached sa endorsers ko. Ngayon, I’ve changed. Iba na tayo. Empowered women!” (Maja taught me. I was too emotional, too attached to my endorsers. Now, I’ve changed. We’re different now. Empowered women!)

Maja, for her part, expressed deep gratitude toward Beautéderm, highlighting not just the business success it has brought but also the benefits it provides to women like her.

“Sabi ko nga kay Manang, di ba, do’n sa song, ‘Sa Beautéderm, gaganda ang buhay mo’ — hindi lang yung mga distributor yung gumaganda yung buhay, yung totoong—pati yung skin mo talaga din.” (Like I told Manang, in the song, ‘With Beautéderm, your life will be beautiful’—it’s not just the distributors who benefit, but your skin truly improves too.)

She proudly shared that even before becoming an endorser, she was already a user of Beautéderm products.

“Bago pa ‘ko matanong ni Manang, bago pa ‘ko maging endorser ng Beautéderm, e gumagamit na rin talaga ‘ko ng Beautéderm.” (Before Manang even asked me, before I became an endorser, I was already using Beautéderm.)

Now a wife and a new mother, Maja continues to trust the brand in her skincare routine.

“With Beautéderm, alam mong best partner yan ng mga mommy na katulad ko o nating mga babae rin.” (With Beautéderm, you know it’s the best partner for moms like me and for women in general.)

She then playfully pointed out the proof of the brand’s effectiveness.

“So, kita n’yo naman, hindi na lang ako magsasalita. Just look at me now.” (So, you see, I won’t even say anything. Just look at me now.)

Beyond business, Maja and Rhea share a strong bond, something Maja attributes to their shared roots.

“Si Manang kasi, siguro [dahil] pareho kaming Ilokana, kaya parang nando’n yung akala mong parang ‘Baka isipin nung iba nagplaplastikan, masyadong close kaagad!’ Yung gano’n! Pero, hindi. Wala talaga.” (Maybe because Manang and I are both Ilokana, people might think we’re just pretending, like ‘They got close too fast!’ But no, it’s real.)

Their connection has only strengthened over the years, with Rhea even becoming a godmother at Maja’s wedding.

“She’s more than my boss, so talagang totoong Manang ko siya.” (She’s more than my boss; she’s truly my Manang.)
