Bill Skarsgård faces off against Anthony Hopkins in thriller film ‘Locked’

Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled cinematic experience as Locked, an intense action-thriller brimming with suspense and high-stakes survival, arrives in Philippine theaters. Produced by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell), the film delivers non-stop tension and gripping action. Distributed by Viva International Pictures, ‘Locked’ premieres nationwide on April 2.

‘Locked’ is about the journey of Eddie (Bill Skarsgård), a small-time thief with big-time problems. When he breaks into a luxury SUV, he thinks he’s scored the jackpot. However, he realizes he’s walked straight into a sadistic trap set by William (Anthony Hopkins), a relentless vigilante, hell-bent on exacting his own brand of justice.

The car is rigged with contraptions designed to keep Eddie locked in. With William monitoring his every move, Eddie must use every ounce of wit and grit to break free and outsmart his ruthless captor… or face a brutal fate.

In this high-speed, vicious battle, survival is the ultimate prize—and only one will make it out alive.

‘Locked’ brings together two exceptional actors who are no strangers to playing iconic villains. Skarsgård is known for his terrifying portrayal of Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the ‘It’ movies and in the upcoming horror movie, Nosferatu. He once again proves his dedication to complex, intense characters. As Eddie, he brings a fierce determination to break free from his twisted prison on wheels.

He faces off against the legendary Hopkins, whose portrayal of William showcases why he remains one of the most respected actors in the world. An Academy Award, Emmy, and BAFTA-winning actor, he is renowned for his haunting role as Hannibal Lecter in ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ (1991). Hopkins once again taps into his genius to deliver a performance both terrifying and riveting.

Director David Yarovesky, known for his bold and imaginative storytelling, is at the helm of ‘Locked.’ After making waves with the horror film ‘Brightburn’ (2019) and Netflix’s dark fantasy ‘Nightbooks’ (2021), Yarovesky steps up his game, blending psychological horror with explosive tension.

“Working with Bill and Anthony was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They are two of the greatest living actors, each having brought to life some of the most iconic villains of all time,”  Yarovesky shared in a stamement.

“Together, they are electric! I’m deeply grateful to both of them, as well as to Sam Raimi, for being such incredible creative partners and for trusting me to steer the ship.”

Prepare to be locked in for a ride full of thrill as Eddie fights for his life against a sadistic vigilante. Catch ‘Locked’ in cinemas nationwide on April 2.
