Mayor Marcy, Rep. Maan celebrate graduates

Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro and his wife, Marikina 1st District Representative Maan Teodoro, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the city’s recent graduates, praising their perseverance, grit, and commitment to learning despite challenges.

On Facebook, Rep. Maan shared her message of pride and joy for the students and their families, acknowledging the festive spirit of graduation season.

(It’s graduation season, and the joy felt by every student and parent is truly overwhelming. Even though Mayor Marcy and I weren’t physically present during your recognition and graduation ceremonies, we are very proud of all of you!)

She emphasized that every diploma, certificate, and medal earned was the result of relentless hard work and daily perseverance.

Huwag kayong mag-alala, marami pa tayong taon na magsama-sama,” she said.

(Because we know that every medal, diploma, and certificate represents your hard work, dedication, and daily efforts. Don’t worry—we still have many years ahead to spend together.)

The Teodoros also visited schools and homes across Marikina to personally greet graduates and encourage them to keep striving toward their dreams.

Mayor Marcy is seeking a seat in Congress as Marikina’s 1st District Representative, while Rep. Maan is running for mayor in the upcoming elections.

Despite his six-month suspension, Mayor Teodoro continues to draw strong support from various sectors in Marikina.

Earlier, more than 40 clans in Marikina City expressed their full support for Teodoro and other suspended local officials under preventive suspension, hoping for their exoneration from the charges filed against them.

(Groups representing various clans in Marikina City are deeply concerned about recent events in our city. We want to express our full support and prayers to Mayor Marcy and his fellow officials, and hope they are given a just ruling in the case they’re facing.)

The group denounced what it described as “dirty politics” being employed by Teodoro’s opponents to tarnish his reputation, including the filing of what they claim are baseless charges against him.

(We can strongly feel the sadness in our community. We also deeply feel the public’s anger toward the dirty political tactics being used by his opponents.)

In a statement, the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) also called for a fair and transparent hearing process regarding Teodoro’s suspension.

“Nananawagan ang Mayors for Good Governance para sa isang makatarungan at malinaw na proseso ng pagdinig ukol sa anim na buwang suspension na ipinataw ng Ombudsman kay Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro,” M4GG said.
