Blvck Entertainment Production Inc. has officially introduced its newest solo artist—Chryzquin Yu, a total performer whose star continues to rise in the local entertainment scene. The announcement was led by company founders and executives, Engineers Louie and Grace Cristobal, who proudly welcomed Chryzquin into the spotlight under both Blvck Entertainment and Blvck Music.
Chryzquin recently launched her debut single titled “’Di Na” (featuring Jake Piedad), now available on major music streaming platforms. Its music video—directed by Louie Ong—is also out on YouTube (see the video below). Fans can look forward to even more releases soon.
On Taylor Swift, Lisa, Sarah G., Maja, BINI
During her launch event at a bar in Quezon City on April 19, Chryzquin opened up about the artists who shaped her musical identity.
She named Taylor Swift and Lisa of BLACKPINK as her top international inspirations, saying, “I really love Taylor Swift and Lisa Manobal of BLACKPINK.”
When it comes to local influences, she pointed to two pop icons and a rising P-pop group. “For local po, I love Sarah Geronimo, and of course BINI. Yun po ang mga music influences ko,” she added.
(I really love Taylor Swift and Lisa Manobal of Blackpink. And for local artists, I love Sarah Geronimo and of course BINI. Those are my music influences.)
As for her dream collaborations, Chryzquin said she hopes to work with the very idols she grew up admiring. “Siyempre po yung mga idol ko—like what I mentioned kanina—in the future,” she shared, naming Sarah Geronimo, Maja Salvador, and BINI as her ideal local collaborators.
(Of course, I want to collaborate with my idols—like I mentioned earlier—in the future.)
She also dreams of going global, expressing her wish to one day perform with BLACKPINK’s Lisa. “I hope I make it global—I want to collaborate with Lisa,” she said with a smile.
Chryzquin’s roots in showbiz started at a young age through multiple reality shows such as Talentadong Pinoy Kids (TV5), Dance Kids (ABS-CBN), and continued with appearances on Your Moment, Eat Bulaga Bida Next, World of Dance PH, and Girl on Fire on It’s Showtime.
Her breakthrough in the music scene came when she became a pre-debut member of the girl group Blvck Flowers, serving as lead rapper and main dancer. Although her official debut was momentarily paused due to health issues, she used that time to recover and train harder, coming back with renewed passion and determination.
Her hard work paid off with recognitions in the K-pop and P-pop community, winning Best Rapper at the 2023 KPOP Static KPOP Cover Artist Awards, and being named Star of the Night at the PPOP Awards 2023.
Outside of music, Chryzquin also thrives as a commercial model and a decorated dancesport athlete. Despite her busy showbiz schedule, she remains committed to her education as a university student at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
Blvck Entertainment as her second family
Describing her experience with Blvck Entertainment, Chryzquin became emotional as she reflected on how her management became like family to her.
“Our management, this is our second home. Kumbaga [In a sense], they become our second parents,” she began, explaining how present they’ve been throughout her journey.
She said she spends most of her days at the company headquarters, especially leading up to her official launch.
“Sila yung nag-aalaga sa akin, sila yung nagwo-work talaga to make me the best artist that I could be,” she shared.
(They were the ones taking care of me and really working to help me become the best artist I could be.)
For Chryzquin, this support extends beyond showbiz. “Sila yung nagbi-build sa akin to be a better person, to improve my talent, so it’s very important that you trust your management, you trust the process. And you have to treat them as your second parents talaga.”
(They helped build me into a better person and improve my talent, so it’s very important to trust your management, to trust the process—and to really treat them as your second parents.)
She also spoke with deep appreciation for the guidance of Blvck Entertainment’s founders, Engineer Louie and Ms. Grace Cristobal.
According to Chryzquin, their mentorship goes far beyond performance and professionalism. “They don’t just give me advice as an artist; they give me advice as a daughter also,” she said.
She furthered, “Kung paano ako maging mabuting tao, hindi lang sa ginagawa, but at the same time to the people around me, because again being an artist isn’t just ‘maganda lang’ or ‘performing lang’.”
(They’ve taught me how to be a good person—not just in what I do, but in how I treat people. Because being an artist isn’t just about looking good or performing.)
“We always have to remember to keep our feet on the ground and heads up to the people.”
With her well-rounded background, unwavering drive, and strong support system, Chryzquin Yu is poised to become one of the most exciting young stars to watch out for in the local music scene. We can’t wait to see more of this talent star!
