Former senator Kiko Pangilinan, who is vying to reclaim a spot in the Senate, received a fresh wave of support from well-known personalities in the entertainment industry. Among the celebrities who recently expressed their backing are Anne Curtis, Janine Gutierrez, Jake Ejercito, and John Arcilla.
Curtis and Gutierrez took to their individual Instagram accounts to reshare a video of Pangilinan. In the clip, the senatorial hopeful acknowledged the importance of grassroots support in his campaign efforts.
This renewed celebrity support comes as Pangilinan continues to strive for a place in the coveted Top 12 Senate rankings.
“Mga kababayan, sa puntong ito ng ating laban, ilang araw na lang tapos na ang kampanya at mag-e-eleksyon na at kung hindi tayo kikilos ngayon, baka hindi natin kayanin na ipanalo itong laban na ito,” he said in the video.
Curtis reposted the video reel and added “#51 po!!!,” referring to Pangilinan’s ballot number. She also added, “Let’s go Tito @kiko.pangilinan,” tagging Megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan’s Instagram handle.
Gutierrez, for her part, opened up on her Instagram broadcast channel “channel.nine” about who she would vote for as senator this coming May 12, 2025.
She wrote, “happy sunday everyone (white heart emoji) guys lapit na ng elections!!! have you made your lists?” She then shared a video ad of Pangilinan, adding “my senator! #TapatAtTotoo.”
Ejercito then took to his social media accounts to express his support for the former senator.
“Para sa bawat hapag at sa kabataan, KIKO-BAM!,” his post read, followed by the images of Pangilinan and former senator Bam Aquino.
Arcilla, multi-awarded veteran actor, also shared that he would be voting for Pangilinan.
“Kumbinasyon ng mga Subok na at Bagong Malinis ang Record. Para sa mga Estudiyante mga Guro, Magsasaka, mangagawa, mga Barangay at Propesyonal, Para sa naghihirap na Bayan,” he wrote on X, accompanied by Pangilinan’s photo, as well as that of other senatorial candidates he supports.
Curtis, Gutierrez, Ejercito, and Arcilla also supported Pangilinan when he ran as vice president in 2022.
Trailing the Magic 12 in recently conducted pre-election surveys, the former senator is statistically tied with other senatorial candidates, and would need a strong push to the finish line.
In the video, he said that while he doesn’t have a large political machinery and billions of pesos for TV and radio ads, he relies on his friends and supporters.
“Wala tayong naibibigay sa kanila kundi ang pinanghahawakang pag-asa, kasama ang katotohanan, paninindigan at sinserong malasakit sa bayan,” Pangilinan added.
Like Curtis and Gutierrez, the former senator explained how a simple post can turn into a vote.
He asked supporters to use social media to share about why they trust him as senator and why they will vote for him. They could also privately message their friends and acquaintances to campaign for him.
Aside from house-to-house campaigns and distributing flyers to voters, Pangilinan said that his supporters should aim to convert at least five voters every day.
Every little action, he added, is crucial to a win, urging his supporters not to lose hope and to believe in the power of their movement.
