Talent manager and entertainment personality Ogie Diaz took to Facebook to call out senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame over his behavior in a recent campaign motorcade that has since gone viral online.
In the circulating clip, Willie appeared visibly angry as he reprimanded people around his campaign float while forcefully hurling t-shirts into the crowd.
(Political candidates should be aware of their behavior while campaigning, especially with so many cameras pointed at them.)
(We shouldn’t let our temper get the best of us. We all know the weather’s hot, so we need to extend more patience. How can people vote for us if we can’t even manage a simple smile—even if we’re not giving away jackets?)
Ogie pointed out that Willie’s past behavior on his TV show — where he was seen scolding staff or co-hosts — shouldn’t be excused just because it’s part of his personality.
Nagpapakatotoo lang ako,’” he said.
(Let’s always keep in mind that we’re wooing voters to choose and support us. That “This is just how I am, I’m just being real” excuse doesn’t cut it.)
He concluded his post with a reminder about humility: “Jacket lang ang ipinamimigay, hindi naman titulo ng house and lot. So hindi dapat ganyan ang attitude.”
(You’re just giving away jackets, not the title to a house and lot. So that kind of attitude isn’t warranted.)
Apart from his viral outburst, Willie has also drawn criticism after admitting that he had no concrete legislative plans when asked about his campaign platform.
