Puregold Channel has unveiled the trailer for its newest digital series Si Sol at si Luna, and it’s already causing a stir — especially with the unexpected transition of Zaijian Jaranilla into more mature roles. Known to many as the innocent Santino from May Bukas Pa and a standout in Goin’ Bulilit, Zaijian is seen baring more than just his soul in the teaser, engaging in a passionate kissing scene with co-star Jane Oineza.

While viewers were caught off guard by the scene, many have expressed excitement over the actor’s first-ever onscreen love scene. Adding even more intrigue is the chemistry between Zaijian and Jane, whose pairing draws attention due to their age difference. However, the contrast works in the show’s favor, as his youthful appeal and her confident sensuality create an unexpected but compelling dynamic.

Director Dolly Dulu shared his experience guiding Zaijian through the transition. “Nakakatuwa na pinagkatiwalaan niya ako to do this big transition from his image as Santino to his coming-of-age portrayal of Sol,” he said. “Yung ganung klase na eksena is a major step na kailangan gawin at bigyan ng justice.”

In ‘Si Sol at si Luna,’ Sol is a film student working on his thesis whose life changes when he meets the heartbroken Luna. As their paths converge, they must navigate the complexities of attraction, love, and loss that are only amplified by their age gap.

With the lead characters’ intense onscreen intimacy, ‘Si Sol at si Luna’ promises to be Puregold Channel’s most boundary-pushing digital series yet. 

Stressing on the significance of the company’s latest project, Puregold’s senior marketing manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad disclosed that they wanted an unconventional but authentic story for Puregold Channel’s latest retailtainment offering. “It’s a story that means a lot to everyone involved,” Piedad said. “It’s a deeply felt one for our director Dolly Dulu, and a real test of the emotional maturity of our lead actors Zaijian and Jane.”

This latest dramatic offering directed and conceptualized by Dolly Dulu follows in the wake of Puregold Channel’s hit digital series such as ‘My Plantito,’ ’52 Weeks,’ and ‘Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile.’ In the last few years, Puregold has been leading the charge in uplifting local culture and artists, making major waves in series creation, OPM, and even the film industry.

‘Si Sol at si Luna’ is set to premiere on May 31, Saturday, at 7 PM on the Puregold Channel on YouTube. Subsequent episodes will drop every Saturday at the same time.
