Alfred Vargas expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Quezon City’s District 5 for granting both him and his brother, PM Vargas, a renewed mandate to serve the district.

The actor-turned-politician took to Instagram to share a celebratory post, uploading a video set to Queen’s “We Are the Champions.” The clip included moments from their campaign trail and their official proclamation, where they stood side by side with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

On his social media post, his caption read: “We are the champions, my friend… And we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end..

“To God be the glory!!!

“Doble-dobleng pasasalamat sa lahat ng ating kababayan para dito sa ating double victory sa District V!”

With this win, Alfred will immediately start his work so that he can continue his projects in the district, one of these is education.

“Starting this July, we will start rolling out our ‘Alagang Vargas Scholarship Program 2.0, level up!’ This educational assistance program aims to provide one scholar for every Novaleño family. Isang pamilya, may isang iskolar. This scholarship is for elementary, high school and college levels and there is no grade requirement. Basta pasado ka, pasado ka na rin sa program! The scholarship will continue until the student graduates from college.

“So far, we have 20,000++ college graduate scholars already who are now accountants, managers, engineers, teachers, nurses and even elected barangay officials, among others!,” Alfred shared.

Like other candidates, the actor/politician also went through numerous hardships while campaigning. Various fake news and disinformation were thrown at him, but his district fought for him. Alfred’s brother, PM, also stayed beside him throughout the entire journey.

For that, Alfred feels extremely grateful, “Maraming salamat sa inyong pagmamahal, supprta at tiwala through the years! Sa gitna ng napakaraming paninira, fake news, kataksilan, kasinungalingan at pandaraya, nanatili kayong tapat at totoo at nanindigan para sa prinsipyo at tunay na serbisyo. Inilaban ninyo kami kahit mahirap. Sinamahan niyo kami hanggang dulo!”

“Dito natin napakita na isa tayong tunay na pamilyang magkasama sa hirap man o ginhawa at handang lumaban para sa tama at para sa isa’t isa at para sa bayan!”

Alfred also commended his brother, PM, for being a genuine and honest leader whose aspiration is to always help others.

“Congrats bro Congressman PM Vargas @pmvargasph !!! Isa kang tunay na lider na may sinseridad, puso at tapang para sa mga mamamayan ng Novaliches. We are proud of you. Nanalo ka muli at mahal ka ng distrito dahil isa kang mabuting tao na may tunay na pagtulong at malasakit sa kapwa.”

At the end, Alfred promised that he will continue to serve truthfully and will make more programs that will be beneficial for the people in his district.

“Ang inyong lingkod naman po, Alfred Vargas, ay patuloy na maglilingkod nang totoo at lalo pa nating pagbubutihin ang ating mga programa at lalong palalakasin ang ating pagsasama.

Aside from the people in his district, Alfred also extended his thanks to his wife, Yasmine Espiritu, and their children Alexandra Milan, Aryana Cassandra, Alfredo Cristiano, and Baby Aurora Sofia, for accompanying him when he was campaigning.

“I thanked them immensely, especially my wife. My family has sacrificed so much to support me these last 15 years in public service. So much of my time was spent serving others and sometimes, at the expense of my time with my family. But they understood me all the way and knew how much passion I had in trying to effect positive change. I have achieved so much because my wife and children supported me and for that, I am immensely grateful.”
