Actress-dancer-host — and now an entrepreneur — Maja Salvador has officially ventured into the body care industry with the launch of Majeskin, her newest brand developed in partnership with Rhea Anicoche-Tan, CEO and founder of Beautéderm Corporation.
Held on May 23 at an events place in Quezon City, the joint launch and press conference introduced Majeskin as a brand built around the tagline “Glow Beyond The Surface”. The collaboration blends both Salvador’s vision and Tan’s expertise in the beauty business.
“Dream ko na magkaroon ng sarili kong body care na line… With the help of Rambo, and Aivee, and Manang Rhea, eto na si Majeskin,” Maja shared during a pocket interview attended by CinemaBravo.
(Dreaming of having my own body care line has always been my goal… With the help of Rambo, Aivee, and Manang Rhea, Majeskin is finally here.)
With Rhea Tan’s guidance
Maja shared that creating a body care line has long been a dream of hers, and the support from Tan, along with her husband Rambo Nuñez and trusted dermatologist Dr. Aivee Teo, helped bring the concept to life.
According to Rambo, the journey to create Majeskin was long and deliberate, involving multiple phases of conceptualization and product testing.
“Parang uso kasi ngayon ang mga collaboration, even like sa Hollywood. For us, having si Manang Rhea nga who is very close to us, we value yung experience niya. I mean, parang ang gandang combination na she’s successful sa business niya doing yung mga ganitong klaseng products.”
(Collaborations are trending now, even in Hollywood. For us, having Manang Rhea — someone very close to us — brings valuable experience. She’s already successful in creating these kinds of products. )
He continued, “At the same time, even personally, meron kaming trust sa kanya as our ninang. So, parang for us, we have the perfect recipe na maging kumbaga reality yung ine-envision lang namin. Because, yun nga, hindi naman ito overnight. Again, [it took] five years… conceptualizing, yung name, kung ano talagang product, several testing to ensure na maganda talaga yung produkto. So we all went through that…”
(Personally, we trust her as our godmother. So for us, it’s like we had the perfect recipe to turn our vision into reality. It wasn’t overnight. It took five years… conceptualizing the name, finalizing the product, and doing several rounds of testing to make sure it’s really a great product. We all went through that.)
According to Maja, many of their ideas for Majeskin were born during trips abroad when she and Rambo had more time to talk and reflect.
“Pag may naisip, ang bilis ng action ng asawa ko… Ayan na siya, hindi mo alam, kinakausap na pala niya si Manang Rhea, kinakausap na niya yung friend namin. And then, parang ‘O, ready ka na? May meeting na tayo,’ ganyan. Napag-uusapan natin kapag nagta-travel. Kasi pag dito sa Manila, of course, may time naman kami sa isa’t isa, pero yung pag mas relaxed ba yung mind namin, mas do’n pumapasok yung new ideas, parang mas do’n namin napag-uusapan ‘Ano pa’ng pwede nating gawin?’”
(When my husband gets an idea, he acts quickly… Suddenly, you find out he’s already talking to Manang Rhea or our friend. Then he says, ‘Are you ready? We have a meeting.’ We usually talk about ideas when we travel. In Manila, we have time for each other, but when we’re more relaxed, more ideas come in, and we get to talk about what else we can do.)
Six essential products
During the launch proper, which was hosted by fellow Beautéderm ambassador Thia Thomalla, Ms. Rei shared how the idea had been years in the making and how her close bond with Maja Salvador made the partnership feel natural.
“Actually, no’ng kinuha ko si Maja [for Beautéderm noong] 2021, sinabi niya sa akin na gusto niya ng body care… so ang tagal naming hinintay. It took us 4-5 years, bago pa siya ikasal… Kami ay hindi lang magninang, siya ay aking ading. Kaya yung [gawa ng] trust ko sa kanya, hindi ako nagdalawang-isip. At ngayon ay isa na siyang nanay, isa na rin siyang mom-trepreneur. Kanina ay nag-e-emote kami kasi this is a whole new world for my baby.”
(When I got Maja for Beautéderm back in 2021, she told me she wanted a body care line… so we waited a long time. It took us four to five years, even before she got married… We’re not just godmother and goddaughter, she’s like a younger sister to me. That’s why I never hesitated because of the trust I have in her. And now, she’s not just a mom, she’s also a mompreneur. We got emotional earlier because this is a whole new world for my baby.)
The body care line includes six essential products: Calming Body Wash, Calming Body Scrub, and Calming Body Lotion — all in a soothing chamomile scent — along with Nourishing Body Wash, Nourishing Body Scrub, and Nourishing Body Lotion in a milk scent.
Infused with skin-loving ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, niacinamide, arbutin, botanical extracts, goat milk extract, and aloe vera, Majeskin aims to deliver a gentle yet effective skincare experience.
Beyond being just another skincare line, Majeskin carries personal meaning for both founders. Their bond — both professional and personal — was evident throughout the launch event.
Tan expressed this through her words at the launch: “Maja and I have always wanted to work together. When queens unite, they create something majestic. Maja embodies everything a queen should be: authentic, determined, passionate, and creative. And, as beauty entrepreneurs, we must not just serve ‘face cards’ but also deliver a glow that extends beyond the surface.”
Majeskin stands for being minimal, majestic, and made-for-skin — a fresh take on body care that’s designed to nourish both skin and soul. The launch was not only a celebration of new products, but also of trust, family, and a shared dream finally realized.
