TOYM 2025 kicks off national search for outstanding young Filipino changemakers

The hunt for the next generation of inspiring Filipino leaders is now underway as JCI Philippines and the TOYM Foundation officially opened nominations for The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) 2025. The national launch and press conference took place on May 29 at the Regal Palace, Rizal Park Hotel in Manila.

Bringing together past honorees, civic leaders, members of the media, and various stakeholders, the event marked the beginning of another chapter in TOYM’s storied tradition of recognizing remarkable young Filipinos. Since its inception in 1959, TOYM has stood as a beacon of excellence—honoring individuals whose professional accomplishments and commitment to humanitarian work have uplifted communities and inspired positive change.

Over the years, TOYM awardees have come from diverse sectors—ranging from science and medicine to culture, business, public service, and education. Each one has exemplified the resilience, brilliance, and heart of the Filipino spirit.

With the theme “Excellence in Action, Building a Better Tomorrow,” TOYM 2025 shines a spotlight on young individuals who demonstrate not only professional excellence but also a strong sense of social responsibility. This year’s campaign underscores the importance of transforming ideals into concrete impact—recognizing those who turn passion into action and innovation into lasting solutions.

Who can be nominated?

JCI Philippines invites nominations of young Filipinos who have shown exceptional leadership and meaningful contributions in their field or community. The nomination period runs until August 30, 2025.

Nominations are open for individuals in the following categories:

  • Humanitarian Service & Social Work
  • Arts & Culture
  • Pure Sciences & Mathematics
  • Engineering, Agriculture & Other Applied Sciences
  • Education
  • Law
  • Public Service & Civic Work
  • Medicine & Other Health Science & Services
  • Sports
  • Business & Economics
  • Journalism & Mass Communications

To qualify, nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • (a) The nominee must be between the ages of 18 to 40 by December 31 of the current year.
  • (b) The nominee must be a Filipino citizen, including those born to Filipino parents in foreign countries; those who at the time his/her/their bid was received by the TOYM Secretariat is a naturalized citizen of the Philippines or those who in a manner provided by law have elected Philippine citizenship; and those who, despite living outside the Philippines as resident aliens or immigrants of another country, have one or both parents who is/are citizens of the Philippines.
  • (c) The nominee must have engaged in his/her/their field of endeavor for a substantial part of his/her/their life, with documented proof subject to verification by the TOYM Secretariat.
  • (d) The nominee must have been engaged in contributing to humanitarian causes for a substantial part of his/her/their life, with documented proof subject to verification by the TOYM Secretariat.
  • (e) The nominee must not be a past TOYM honoree or currently a national officer or paid staff of JCI Philippines and the TOYM Foundation.

Key Periods (tentative)

  • Submission of Nominations: May 30 to August 30 2025
  • Screening, Judging, and Selection: September to October 2025
  • Awarding and Gala Dinner: January 2026
