During the official sashing event of Miss Supermodel Worldwide 2025 held on June 18 in a private events place in Pasay City, Philippine representative Charyzah Barbara Esparrago delivered a powerful statement that set her apart among the 13 international candidates.
In an intimate conversation with select media, including CinemaBravo, and alongside her fellow English-speaking delegates, Esparrago emphasized the deeper meaning she finds in modeling: “The way I see it, we are… vessels for the messages of our designers.”
Here are the 11 international contenders vying for the Miss Supermodel Worldwide 2025 crown:
- 🇪🇨 Ecuador – Joseline Pando
- 🇪🇹 Ethiopia – Ruth Yirgalem Weldesilasie
- 🇺🇸 Hawaii – Shelito Kim Gallego
- 🇮🇳 India – Tiffany Fernandes
- 🇵🇭 Philippines – Charyzah Barbara Esparrago
- 🇷🇺 Russia – Gulsiia Aidarovna
- 🇿🇦 South Africa – Olwethi Tembe
- 🇰🇷 South Korea – Ju Won Bak
- 🇪🇸 Spain – Maria Leslyn Numilla
- 🇺🇸 USA – Joy Mwangi
- 🇻🇳 Vietnam – Charmyn KC Sierra
Esparrago explained that the role of a model goes beyond simply showcasing clothing. For her, it is about aligning with messages that matter.
“But it isn’t just a one-way street. I’m not just there to wear their message; I am also the person that gets to choose whose messages I can put up on a bigger stage,” she continued.
Esparrago also expressed her advocacy for emerging artists, particularly those who struggle with the reality of choosing between passion and practicality.
“And winning Miss Supermodel Worldwide means that I can go to the designers that are new, to the artists that have unfortunately had to put their passions aside because they think it’s not practical.”
She pointed out the socioeconomic barriers many creatives face in the Philippines. “The Philippines is a third-world country. Sometimes, we prioritize putting food on our plates as opposed to nourishing the passion in our hearts,” she shared.
However, she made it clear that she wants to challenge that mindset. “And I don’t want them to choose between the two.”
With deep gratitude, Esparrago acknowledged her support system. “I am so privileged to have resources. And you are only as good as your org.
“And I’m so lucky to have an org that believes in artists and gives them that platform.”
Closing her statement, Esparrago declared her alignment with the pageant’s direction. “So if I were to win, I would just continue where Mr. Sandeep is already going, which is allowing people to have that space to truly be themselves without any fear of whether or not they are compromising or settling.”
