Bam Aquino, youth groups set up soup kitchens for flood victims

Senator Bam Aquino, in partnership with several organizations, has mobilized efforts to provide immediate aid to communities affected by Typhoon Crising and the southwest monsoon (habagat).

Through the help of Kaya Natin Youth chapters in Caloocan, Manila, and Malabon, hot meals have been distributed to residents impacted by flooding. These initiatives were done in coordination with the Office of Sen. Bam Aquino.

“Maraming salamat po sa ating mga kasama sa Kaya Natin Youth sa para sa kanilang mabilis na pagkilos at maagap na pag-abot ng tulong sa ating mga kababayan na matinding naapektuhan ng habagat,” Aquino said.
(Thank you to our Kaya Natin Youth members for their swift response and immediate assistance to our fellow Filipinos heavily affected by the monsoon.)

Angat Buhay, the non-government organization (NGO) founded by former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, and its local chapters have also distributed food packs in rain-affected areas as part of its Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network.

In Marikina, Angat Buhay, in coordination with Trining’s Kitchen Stories, has prepared 3,500 hot meals for evacuees. Grab Philippines and the City Government of Marikina will distribute the meals to families in evacuation centers.

Angat Buhay volunteers also distributed food packs to residents of Brgy. San Juan in Taytay, Rizal, while affiliate groups ALERTO (Alliance on Local Emergency Response Team Operations) and U Lead Pilipinas served hot meals to 131 families across five evacuation sites in Bulacan.
