Arthur Nery to drop his first full Bisaya single ‘Ayaw Baya’

Following a massive year in 2024 that saw the release of his sophomore album II: The Second in September and a record-breaking solo concert in October, Arthur Nery is keeping the momentum strong. The genre-defying R&B artist now takes a more personal turn with his latest single, Ayaw Baya — his first song written entirely in Bisaya.

Unlike earlier tracks such as Isa Lang and I Gotchu, which only included hints of the Bisaya language in a few verses, Ayaw Baya is a full embrace of his linguistic roots. The title, a Bisaya expression, roughly translates to “please don’t” or “just don’t” — a soft yet poignant plea that reflects the emotional essence of the track.

Blending his signature neo-soul and R&B stylings with the rich texture of regional language, Arthur explores themes of love, abandonment, and the silent grief of unspoken farewells. It’s a hauntingly vulnerable track that resonates with anyone who has ever been left behind without closure.

Known for pushing boundaries while staying true to his roots, Arthur Nery continues to redefine what OPM can sound like — viscerally honest,  sonically sleek, and now, powerfully regional. With “Ayaw Baya”, he not only expands his artistic range but also elevates Bisaya music to the national stage.Stay tuned on August 1 and stream “Ayaw Baya” on all major digital platforms and follow Arthur Nery on social media for exclusive content and behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the single.

This latest release stands as a tribute to Arthur’s heritage and hometown, making it both a personal milestone and a cultural statement. With Ayaw Baya, Nery not only expands his musical range but also highlights the emotional depth of Bisaya as a lyrical language — breaking barriers and touching hearts in the process.
