‘Magic Mike’ nga ba ng Pilipinas? All-male dance group MAXBOYZ launched

Does the Philippines now have its own Magic Mike?

That’s the vision behind MAXBOYZ, a newly formed all-male dance group officially launched under Wildstar Media and Production. The group made its debut last July 29, 2025, at Viva Café in Quezon City. The group had a live performance and a contract signing ceremony with their bosses.

The concept comes from Mariposa Cabigquez, CEO of Wildstar Media and Production, who is best known for her stint on Willie Revillame’s defunct ABS-CBN noontime show Wowowee. Cabigquez shared that the idea was inspired by the global popularity of Magic Mike shows abroad.

“Fan talaga ako ng Magic Mike, international,” she shared. “So, sabi ko, bakit ang Pilipinas, parang wala. Kasi sa ibang bansa, pag pumupunta kami, pinipilahan po ang Magic Mike… Sabi ko, bakit hindi natin gawin na magkaroon po ng Magic Mike ang Pilipinas. Kasi, more of K-pop na po tayo e. More of ‘yan na po ang genre ngayon. So, another flavor naman… This time, I think this is the right timing at perfect timing for Magic Mike ng Pilipinas kaya nabuo po kami.”

(I’m really a fan of the international Magic Mike. So I thought, why doesn’t the Philippines have something like that? In other countries, whenever we go there, people line up for Magic Mike… I said, why not create a version for the Philippines? Because we’re more into K-pop now—that’s the genre these days. So I thought of bringing in another flavor. And this time, I believe this is the right and perfect time to launch the Magic Mike of the Philippines—that’s why we came together.)

During the launch, all 14 members signed their official contracts with Wildstar. The MAXBOYZ lineup includes: Aei, Benny, BK, Chadd, CJ, Dhale, Elton, JJ, JP, RD, Red, RJ, Seonwoo, and Wolf.

Who are the MAXBOYZ?

According to Wildstar, the group is made up of handpicked performers who are not only striking and versatile but also bring distinct energy and charm to the stage. Each member was selected for more than just looks—they bring their own fire, presence, and dance talent to every performance.

Whether it’s abs that make jaws drop, eyes that draw attention, or charisma that lights up the room—MAXBOYZ is out to offer a new flavor of live entertainment in the country, with hopes of reaching international audiences in the future.

While it remains to be seen if they’ll truly earn the title of the Magic Mike of the Philippines, one thing is certain: MAXBOYZ is here, and they’re ready to make an impression.
