MTRCB rates 11,439 materials (TV shows, films, promos) in July 2025

Fulfilling its duty to promote responsible viewing and provide age-appropriate classifications for all audiovisual content, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) rated a total of 11,439 materials in July 2025.

The bulk of the materials reviewed were television programs, with the following breakdown:

  • 10,325 television programs
  • 758 TV plugs
  • 159 publicity materials
  • 144 movie trailers
  • 53 local and foreign films

The agency continues to uphold its mandate of protecting Filipino viewers—especially minors—by ensuring that all content shown on screens is properly reviewed and classified.

“These figures underscore our unwavering commitment to protect the Filipino family, especially the children, through responsible media regulation,” said MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto.

With this latest count, the total number of materials rated and classified by the Board from January to July 2025 has reached 115,091.

“Despite the MTRCB having only 31 Board Members, reviewing over 11,000 materials shows our strong commitment to responsible viewing. I am proud of the Agency’s hard work and dedication,” Sotto added.

The Agency remains dedicated to working with industry stakeholders to foster a safe and responsible media environment for Filipino families, especially the children.
