For Cornerstone Entertainment’s Multimedia Force Elijah Canlas, love is the anchor that keeps him steady amid a whirlwind of projects. His name is just everything: TV, streaming, cinemas, stage plays, music scene—you name it!
At an exclusive press conference held at Cornerstone Entertainment Studio in Quezon City—where CinemaBravo was also present—the 25-year-old actor, who just celebrated his birthday last August 16, shared how he and Miles Ocampo continue to nurture their relationship despite the pressures of showbiz.
Best friends and lovers
“Ang dami na naming pinagdaanan ni Miles, sobra. And feeling ko, that made us stronger, like very, very strong. At kung ano mangyari, alam naman namin na mahal namin ang isa’t isa lagi.” (We’ve been through so much, and I feel that it made us very, very strong. Whatever happens, we both know we’ll always love each other.)
Even with packed schedules, Elijah makes sure Miles is part of his downtime: “Whenever I reward myself, she’s always there with me,” he said.
He also shared how they stay connected through simple dates, movie nights, and video calls whenever work takes them apart. From early on, Miles has also been one of his most trusted voices in choosing projects.
Yung mga scripts na nakukuha ko, pinapa-screen ko na sa kanya. Like, what do you think about this? Kaya ko ba?”
(The scripts I received, I would already ask her to check. Like, what do you think about this? Do you think I can do it?)
Although she often answers with bias and a spirited “Kaya yan, kaya yan!” (‘You can do it’ or ‘it’s easy’), Elijah still values her insights, given her years of experience in the industry. He even teasingly called her a veteran.
Their teamwork extends to memorizing lines together, giving feedback, and even lighthearted suggestions, like when Elijah once convinced her to dye her hair orange.
When asked about a dream project together, he didn’t hesitate to say, “Definitely, ang una, magka-project together. Sana pelikula or show.” (The first dream is to work on a project together. Hopefully a film or a show.)

The ever-reliable and -hardworking Elijah continues to push forward as one of Cornerstone’s most promising young artists. Halfway through the year, the Multimedia Force has already made his mark in film, television, and theater, and has further pushed the enveloped by adding music to his portfolio.
Signed under UMG some two years ago, he is preparing to release his debut full-length album. Originally intended as a six-track EP, the project has grown into 10 tracks. And you guessed it right: all written by him.
“I believe in hip-hop culture. You’re not a true MC, you’re not a true rapper, if you don’t write your own bars, if you don’t write your own verses,” he explained.
With hip-hop as its core and a couple of collaborations in the mix, the record stands as his full-fledged introduction to music. Listening to his songs, one can easily sense how he bridges the love for poetry he discovered in his younger years with his enduring passion for storytelling.
Elijah also shared that he has always been drawn to the art of cinema and has long supported the indie scene: an influence that continues to shape his creative voice.
Grounded by his steadfast relationship with Miles and driven by his fervent craft, Cornerstone’s Multimedia Force proves that no matter how hectic life becomes, he will always make space for the very things (and the people) that truly matter. Cheers to more exciting projects ahead, Elijah Canlas!
