‘Here to Stay’: No Bell’s Palsy can stop Frenchie Dy’s 20th anniv. concert

Even after experiencing Bell’s Palsy three separate times, powerhouse singer Frenchie Dy is pressing on with gratitude and strength.

The acclaimed vocalist is set to celebrate her two-decade career through HERE TO STAY: Frenchie Dy 20th Anniversary Concert on October 24 (Friday), 8:00 PM, at the Music Museum at Greenhills, San Juan.

A milestone in her journey

Since her breakthrough as Star in a Million Grand Champion in 2004, Frenchie has been a constant in the OPM scene, impressing audiences both locally and internationally. Known as “The Power Diva”, she has earned recognition for her remarkable vocal range and emotional delivery.

Behind her success, however, Frenchie faced personal challenges, including three bouts with Bell’s Palsy. These experiences shaped her journey but never silenced her music.

During a media conference held on September 11 at a restaurant in Quezon City, which CinemaBravo was invited to attend, she recalled drawing strength from her family and from the stories of those who reached out to her.

“Naging inspirasyon ko po ang mga anak ko… tapos, yung pamilya ko po. Yung mga tao po na nagmi-message sa akin, yung mga iba’t ibang istorya nila na pinagdaanan ng pagkakaroon ng Bell’s Palsy.”

(My children became my inspiration… then my family. Also, the people who sent me messages, sharing their own different stories of going through Bell’s Palsy.)

Grateful and giving back

She added that she intends to share those experiences with her audience.

“Sa buhay ko, sa music industry, maishi-share ko po sa concert na iyon. Tapos, hanggang kailan ko po ba gustong mag-stay? Nako, hanggat kaya ko pong kumanta,” she added.

(In my life and in the music industry, I will share those experiences in the concert. As for how long I want to stay? Well, as long as I can still sing.)

Frenchie emphasized that this concert is her way of expressing gratitude to those who have supported her.

“This concert is a thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey: my fans, my family, and every person who believed in me. Twenty years of music is something I celebrate not just for myself, but with all of you.”

Part of the proceeds will benefit Bell’s Palsy patients.
