At just 15, singer-songwriter Aleksi B makes his official mark in the OPM scene with the release of his debut single “Gabi-Gabi” and its music video.
The song reflects the emotions, late-night thoughts, and self-discoveries of youth. Honest and heartfelt, “Gabi-Gabi” turns a teenager’s journey into music that resonates with listeners of all ages.
Aleksi shared that releasing a debut track as an independent artist was both daunting and fulfilling. “It’s always a challenge to release your first track, especially as an independent artist,” he said. “But music is something I really want to grow with, and I hope people can connect with what I’m trying to say.”

Despite being independent, Aleksi B is already gaining attention. He’s been featured for two weeks straight in TV 5’s The Vibe Music Uprising, and spotlighted on MYX Global. His debut has also reached 11,000 organic streams on Spotify in just over a month. The “Gabi-Gabi” music video, meanwhile, is now available not only on YouTube but also on Vevo, Spotify, MYX Global, and iWantTFC, expanding his reach to a wider audience.
What makes Aleksi’s artistry even more special is the mentorship guiding him. He is mentored by his father Paul Basinillo, a renowned concert, music video, film, and TV director, who helps shape his vision and discipline. For music, he draws inspiration and guidance from rap legend Gloc-9. His stage and dance performance skills, meanwhile, are honed under the mentorship of Jobel Dayrit and the powerhouse group D Grind.
Aleksi also embraces a DIY approach to music making. Much like international artists such as d4vd, he creates his songs through BandLab, proving that great music doesn’t need fancy studios, just heart and creativity.
As he continues his journey, Aleksi dreams of collaborating with OPM icons like Gloc 9, BINI, Alamat, and GAT, while carving out his own sound and space in the industry.
