For Rabin Angeles, dreams are finally turning into reality. The Viva Artists Agency breakout star—beloved for his roles as Yuri Hanamitchi in Ang Mutya ng Section E and as Drake Palma in Seducing Drake Palma—is now taking a monumental step forward with his first-ever lead role in a movie.
Soon to be seen in the Philippine adaptation of the 2012 South Korean fantasy-romance film A Werewolf Boy, Rabin stars opposite Angela Muji, who steps into the role originally played by Park Bo-young. The story follows a teenage girl who befriends a mysterious feral boy—originally portrayed by Song Joong-ki—whom she finds living on the grounds of her countryside home. But beneath his quiet exterior lies a beast constantly struggling to break free.
In an exclusive interview with CinemaBravo, Rabin shared how his fans’ love and support fuel him every step of the way—and how they’ve become the heart behind his first big-screen milestone.
“Thank you for staying, for believing, and for growing with us. This film is for you. I hope you feel the love we poured into it.” — Rabin Angeles
His fans as his driving force
When asked how his supporters inspire him to keep going, especially during exhausting lock-in shoots, Rabin was quick to express his gratitude.
“They keep me going. When I see their posts, it reminds me why I do this. They inspire me to do my best even when I’m exhausted. Pero alam ko inaabangan nila ang movie (Knowing they’re waiting for the movie)—it’s enough motivation for me.”
Even in his most emotional moments on set, Rabin said his fans are always with him in spirit.
“Oo naman. (Of course.) Knowing they believe in me gives me confidence to take risks in my performance.”
Reuniting with Angela Muji
Fans who have followed Rabin and Angela since Seducing Drake Palma are eagerly awaiting their on-screen reunion. Rabin acknowledged their loyalty, saying, “They’ve been with us since Seducing Drake Palma, and seeing their excitement makes me want to give them something deeper and more meaningful this time.”
If he could dedicate one message from his new film to his supporters, Rabin chose a line that perfectly captures their bond: “Even in silence, I hear you.”
He explained that even if he doesn’t see them all the time, their love and presence remain constant.
Before ending the interview, Rabin dedicated his upcoming film to the people who helped him reach this milestone. “Thank you for staying, for believing, and for growing with us. This film is for you. I hope you feel the love we poured into it.”
