AKB48 began in Japan in 2005, followed by JKT48 in 2011, which started overseas. In the history of the AKB48 group, Quadlips became the first unit featuring selected members from various AKB48 groups across Asia. On October 29, 2023, Quadlips was officially announced, consisting of four members who have led their respective groups in countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines.
