Heart Evangelista bonds with cancer, thalassemia patients in art session

From fashion to art, Heart Evangelista recently shared her passion for painting with children battling cancer and thalassemia.

At the “heArt Gap Gives Back” event organized by GMA Network in partnership with the Little Ark Foundation, the style icon, artist, and entrepreneur led a live painting session that encouraged young patients to explore their creativity.

The Little Ark Foundation provides holistic support to children with critical illnesses such as cancer and thalassemia, extending help not only to the patients but also to their families. The organization aims to meet the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of young patients through a community built on love, faith, and hope.

By raising awareness and connecting families to essential caregivers and resources, the foundation ensures that no child or family navigates their challenging journey alone.

During the art workshop, the children also took the moment to thank Heart, who has long been an advocate and supporter of thalassemia patients.

“My journey with thalassemia patients started when I was 21, and they have held a special place in my life ever since,” Heart shared in a social media post.

Heart has recently been reconnecting with her roots as an artist, unveiling new works on her social media pages. In one of her latest Instagram posts, she showcased a painting in her signature style and captioned it: “Feelings on display.”

Her gesture quickly drew praise from followers, many of whom believe her new pieces reflect silent vulnerabilities and the many emotions that are felt but often left unspoken.

“Power to express what words cannot. The diary of the soul…,” wrote Instagram user @jodiecamilleg in the comments.

Heart has long demonstrated her love for painting and the arts. Her first solo exhibit, “I am Love Marie: The Art and Works of Love Marie Ongpauco,” was held at the Ayala Museum in Makati City in 2014, followed by another in 2015 at the Chan Hampe Galleries in Singapore.

Beyond canvas work, Heart is known for hand-painting designer handbags, clothing, and other pieces for both local and international clients. She also held an exhibit titled “Carry Your HeART” in Bonifacio Global City, where her painted luxury handbags were showcased publicly for the first time.

In a previous interview, Heart described painting as something “very therapeutic for me.”
