The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) held a preliminary conference on 18 December 2025 with the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) production team to address complaints from the public regarding several PBB episodes.
Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto said that youth audiences closely follow the activities of the PBB contestants, noting that their actions and interactions influence how young viewers perceive situations.
Sotto suggested that production should consider drafting a clear Code of Ethics and protective guidelines to safeguard women and children, citing the fact that youngsters being away from their families deserve a safe space.
The Board recommended that the production’s treatment of conflicts or “authentic moments” be used to model respect and positive behavior, turning challenging situations into constructive learning lessons for viewers.
The PBB team said that they had already assisted female contestants in processing their emotions and guided the boys responsible for causing offense. They said disrespect has no place in the Big Brother house, emphasizing the importance of empathy and responsibility.
Joining Sotto in the meeting were Board Members Eloisa Matias, Atty. Ricardo Salomon Jr., and Atty. Pedro Cesar Gabriel Solidum.
PBB attendees were Production Managers Kim Marquez and Legrand Tulod, legal counsel Bee Santos; ABS-CBN’s Producer Oliver Torres, Business Unit Head Marcus Vinuya and Corporate Counsel Allan Rafael.
